Q + A

Q: What is the dress code?

A: No up tight wedding vibes here! Jeans are fine and if you're not a dress wearer, wear whatever makes you feel beautiful :) We want everyone to feel their absolute best!!

Q: What weather should I expect?

A: Door County can be kinda unexpected at moments, due to it being on a peninsula. We recommend packing for all weather. Raincoat, sandals, jeans, shorts, sweatshirts...everything! However, usually mid-September tends to be low 70s and high 60s.

Q: What is there to do in Door County?

A: What ISN'T there to do in Door County?! There are so many fun activities to do around this area...especially during fall time! Door County is known for their beautiful state parks and nature trails. Our favorite place to go is Peninsula State Park, where you can rent kayaks and go on Lake Michigan. Eagle Point Tower is also located in Peninsula State Park where you can lookout across the lake and peninsula...truly spectacular view!! The Door County Trolley Company is always a fun thing to do while in DC! DCTC does trolley tours across the Door County area and have multiple themed tours that will suit whatever you're feeling. Wine tour, cheese tour, or even ghost tours where you go to haunted places around DC and hear ghost stories (Austin and I went on this one...so fun!). We absolutely love the tour guides there so we definitely recommend snagging a tour there! We love going window shopping while in this area as well. Gorgeous boutiques, tons of amazing galleries by local artists, speciality food stores, and MacKenzie's favorite, farm stands/markets. :) Door County takes pride int heir community of local artisans and farmers so we definitely encourage all of you to explore and get lost in these peninsula towns. If you are in town for the whole weekend and want to go on a mini adventure, we LOVE Washington Island. Washington Island is an island off of the Door County peninsula that is only accessible by ferry. But once there, you can rent a bike and bike around this gorgeous, picture-esque island and even bike to a lavender farm! This is what Austin and I did our very first trip to Door County and it was one of the best experiences of my life! Truly magical and such a unique thing to do while in the area! There are endless amounts of things to do in this beautiful area, just depends on what experience you want to have! And for more specific things to do, please feel free to look at our 'Things to Do" tab. :)

Q: Are children allowed?

A: We are respectfully asking for the little ones to stay at home!

Q: Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

A: We are having a phones-free wedding! We have a beautiful photographer that will be taking great pictures all ceremony and reception! We ask to limit phone pictures at the reception because will have plenty of disposable cameras, meant to capture moments and memories in a nostalgic way, which we develop after the wedding. We want our guests to enjoy themselves!

Q: Wedding gift ideas?

A: We will have a registry being updated throughout the upcoming months. We are asking gifts of monetary value as well for our honeymoon! We really want to have a jumpstart fund on saving for that as we are thinking of doing it within the first 6 months of our wedding, so this would be a gift that means so much and is so helpful for us!
