Nico and Mackenzie’s story began in the fall of 2018 during a casual “Soccer Sunday.” Both played soccer at Drury University, and it didn’t take long for their shared passion for the sport—and for life—to spark something special. They hit it off quickly and soon started making memories they’d carry with them forever.

Just a few months into their relationship, in December 2018, Mackenzie traveled to France to meet Nico’s parents and see where he grew up. It was an unforgettable trip filled with new experiences and the kind of connection that comes when you’re learning about the people who shaped the person you love.

Over the next few years, they moved in together, making a home alongside their quirky and lovable cat, Pacha. Life wasn’t just about soccer anymore—it was about building a life together. Along the way, they met incredible friends who turned into family, many of whom will be standing by their sides on their big day.

Despite the distance between their families, Nico and Mackenzie’s parents eventually got the chance to meet. Even with Nico’s parents speaking little English and Mackenzie’s parents knowing no French, they bonded over what they had in common: their love for Nico and Mackenzie.

After 4.5 years together, Nico decided it was time to take the next step. On February 18th, 2023, he proposed at Mackenzie’s lake cabin. The dock was decorated with rose petals and twinkling lights, and as the sun set over the water, Nico asked Mackenzie to marry him. It was simple, beautiful, and completely them. They celebrated that evening with the people they love most—a night they’ll always hold close to their hearts.

Not long after, Nico and Mackenzie bought their first house, turning it into a home filled with laughter, late-night talks, and their newest addition—a sweet dog named Fila. They started planning their future, not just for their wedding but for a life they’d continue building together.

Now, after 6.5 years together, they’re ready for the next chapter. June 14th, 2025, isn’t just about the wedding—it’s about celebrating the love they’ve built and the people who’ve been part of their journey.
