Our Wedding

It all started with a kiss under the stars. Carson and Madalyn were both counselors at Falling Creek Camp during the summer of 2021. They met during orientation when Carson decided to introduce himself with his famous 'Wenis Rodeo'. Madalyn was very intrigued with this goofy guy who wasn't afraid to be himself and they started chatting after the day's work was done. Eventually, their chatting turned into nighttime walks around camp where they would discuss just about anything. They found that it was so easy to talk to one another and that they were very different people. However, those differences made for very interesting conversations and debates. Eventually, Madalyn took a leave of absence from camp to go to a friend's wedding. That gave Carson the time and space to realize that he liked Madalyn more than just a friend (Madalyn had known that she liked Carson for a while). When she came back from the wedding, Carson took her to the overlook to stargaze and kissed her. Madalyn was so happy that he did and she convinced him to date her for the summer.  At the end of the summer, they both decided to be long distance even though it was a scary prospect. Carson and Madalyn went from being a walk away to a 5 hour drive as Madalyn returned to college. During the rest of 2021-2022, they took trips to national forests, state parks, and trips to Pittsburgh whenever they could spare the time. When Madalyn graduated from college in 2022, the distance increased as Madalyn returned to Philadelphia to start her new job. But the distance never proved to be an issue. Throughout the 2022-2023 school year the trips to Pittsburgh continued. They flew to see each other in either Philly or Cincinnati whenever they could.    In the spring of 2023, Madalyn decided that she wanted to move to Cincinnati, which was a big step for both of them. After she moved, they found that they only grew to enjoy each other's company more and more. Their conversations were still as engaging and effortless as before, but they didn't have to wait a month to get a hug after a hard day or give a kiss to celebrate accomplishments.    In the summer of 2024, Carson and Madalyn went to North Carolina to camp with friends (Madalyn) and to help out at Falling Creek (Carson). When Madalyn returned to camp to retrieve Carson, he took her for a walk around the camp to all the places that were meaningful to them. It was an absolutely beautiful day which lent itself to gorgeous views and the smells of camp which were so familiar to them both. When they got to the overlook, Carson kissed Madalyn again on the rock where they had first kissed. Then, after a beautiful and heartfelt exclamation of his love for her, Carson got down on one knee and asked Madalyn to marry him. Of course, Madalyn immediately said an emphatic 'yes'!    The rest is history, which culminates in the wedding ceremony. They both hope that you enjoy yourselves and find Falling Creek to be as beautiful and special as they do.

Morgan is Madalyn's one and only sister, who has supported her throughout their entire lives.  Madalyn is honored that Morgan can stand beside her for her wedding, as she is the first close girl friend that Madalyn had.  Even though they sometimes disagree, as sisters are wont to do, Morgan has always remained a faithful friend to Madalyn.  As Morgan has grown up, she has become an example of faith, creativity, and humor to Madalyn.

Amanda was Madalyn's freshman roommate who quickly became a friend for life.  She has a passion for working with people with disabilities and is an excellent advocate.   Amanda and Madalyn, along with Samantha became fast friends that freshman year.  They bonded over their love for working with people, as well as a love for tea and conversation.  Amanda always leads the group in fun adventures and shares her love of pranks with those who she cares for, which added much needed giggles to those afternoon tea times.

Samantha and Madalyn quickly became forever friends in their freshman year of college.  Samantha, Amanda, and Madalyn frequently refer to themselves as 'roommates' for that freshman year because they became such close friends. Samantha is an amazing teacher who is so passionate about her students and sees them as a part of her family.  Samantha also started Sunday Tea for Madalyn and Amanda so that they always had time to spend together after a hectic week at college.  Now that they are graduated, Samantha has taken on the task of being the group planner to ensure that the trio can see each other at least twice a year.

Laura and Madalyn met in their sophomore year of college when they both took a BRUTAL class together (Western Civ. with Mitchell...).  They became acquaintances who bonded over their love of horses and horseback riding.  They began going on lunch dates and eventually Laura invited Madalyn to be a part of the Equestrian Club, which Madalyn gladly accepted.  Soon after, Madalyn started showing up at Laura's room to chat about the day and go on spontaneous coffee runs for PSLs or a hot chocolate on a cold day.  From sophomore year on, Laura has remained a  lifelong friend and inspiration for Madalyn.

Bailey Skidmore is the oldest of the Skidmore girls.  When Madalyn met the family for the first time, Bailey was so warm and welcoming to her.  Bailey has quickly become a fast friend to Madalyn because of her enthusiasm, sense of humor, and love of conversation.  Bailey is an excellent planner and is always the leader of fun events and outings, which brings everyone closer together.  Madalyn is so excited to gain Bailey as a sister-in-law and can't wait to continue their friendship!

Bailey Skidmore

Elena is the second of the Skidmore sisters, and one of the most adventurous people that Madalyn has ever met.  Madalyn is constantly in awe of Elena's fearlessness and confidence in new situations.  When they first met, Elena immediately made Madalyn feel so welcome and a part of the group of Skidmore kids with her frequent jokes, colorful stories, and willingness to do anything with anyone.  Madalyn can't wait to continue going on adventures with Elena and to be her sister-in-law!

Audrey is the youngest of the Skidmore kiddos and is one of the sweetest people Madalyn has ever met! She fills the world around her with light and laughter wherever she goes.  Her kindness and joy for life have made Madalyn feel so at home as a member of the family.  Madalyn is so excited to have Audrey as a sister-in-law!

Isabel is Amanda's sister, who Madalyn met in her freshman year of college.  The two became very close when Isabel was overjoyed that both she and Madalyn wore glasses dubbing them 'twins at GCC'.  Isabel and Madalyn have always loved to cross paths whenever they can, writing letters, and FaceTiming with Amanda.

Andy is Carson's oldest friend. The two have known each other since infancy, and stayed close friends throughout their time together in school at Wyoming. After high school graduation, Andy went to Kent State University to pursue a career in musical theater, where Carson would visit to see his performances. It was at Kent that Andy met his wife, Hallie, also a thespian, and Carson was later honored to be a groomsman in their beautiful wedding. Andy is currently a working actor, writer, and director in New York City, where his career in the arts has continued to blossom. Andy is always a great conversation partner, and there are few better people with whom to engage in a long and rambling conversation about movies, books, or theater.

Matt is Carson's only first cousin, and the two have always been close. Matt and Carson went on many adventures together growing up, with ski trips, scuba diving, and whitewater rafting taking them all over the US and beyond. Matt is also a Falling Creek alumni, with he and Carson having attended together in 2011. He and Carson can both credit a lot of their interest in the outdoors to Falling Creek, where they both learned whitewater paddling and deepened their love for the mountains. Matt recently completed his MBA at the University of Utah, where he also had great opportunities to ski and hike. He's perceptive, kind, and funny, and has always been a great friend as well as a great cousin.

Aden and Carson were friends throughout their time at Wyoming schools, with their friendship really blossoming after high school when they were both in college. Aden and Carson bonded over their love of food and fiction, with many hours spent talking about their favorite meal experiences, recipes, and imaginary worlds. Aden is an incredibly thoughtful friend and uniquely creative individual who's continued to make Carson's life more fun year after year.

Aden Madux

David and Carson have known each other since childhood,  having played soccer together from elementary school until 8th grade. While the two were close through middle and high school, they became truly great friends after living together in college, and then later again after graduation. David is a deeply kind and thoughtful person who never fails to go out of his way to look out for his friends. He and Carson love to compete at disc golf, and although David usually wins, Carson tends to get him back in Mario Kart.

David Thoms

Carson and Noah became good friends in middle school when they began their time swimming together at Powel Crosley Jr. YMCA. They spent many, many nights and weekends hanging out at practices and meets, where they bonded over their love of video games and movies. Even more nights were spent together in Wes's mom's basement, where sleepovers with most of the rest of the groomsmen were a regular event, and Skyrim and Smash Bros. would be played late into the night.
Noah is an endlessly positive and enthusiastic friend who is always quick with a kind word and a smile. He currently lives in Washington, DC.

Noah Hamilton

Carson probably spent nearly as much of his childhood at Wes's parents' homes as at his own. From weekday hangouts and weekend sleepovers to multi-day May Fete slumber parties, Carson and his friends always seemed to end up back at Wes's place. While his mother is largely to blame for this fact, with her incredible hostessing abilities and generosity, Wes has never failed to do his part in making everyone feel welcome. He is a kind and thoughtful friend who is quick with a joke and a laugh and great for a long conversation. He carries on his mother's hosting tradition to this day, ensuring that our friend group can never stay away from each other for too long.

Wes Meyer

Zach is another of Carson's oldest friends, with the two attending Elm elementary together and staying close throughout their time in Wyoming and beyond. Zach always seemed to be involved in any creative ventures that Carson found his way into growing up, with a band, multiple Youtube videos, and a video game being just some of the products of Zach's ideas. A natural leader and an empathetic friend, Zach has a talent for making other people feel good about themselves, and he's always someone who's good to have around. Zach works in video game development, where he is able to put his creativity and passion to work.

How do I get there?

GPS Address: 2900 Green River Road&nbsp;Zirconia, NC 28790 The cell service on the drive can be a touch spotty, so it is recommend that you download the local map prior to your hotel departure. That way you do not have any issues with navigation. Also, the entrance is a steep hill, but just go slow and enjoy the view!

The shuttle will begin transporting people at 1:30 from the Hendersonville/SE Flat Rock Holiday Inn and Suites Express. There will be two 24 passenger buses to accommodate transit. From the shuttle, you will have the option to walk up to the ceremony site or take a smaller van up to the ceremony site. There will be signage to guide you to the correct location for their van pick-up or your short walk to the top of the mountain.
