*ALERT* - Ferry waits have been terrible the last week or so with crew shortages. When that happens they strip it back to one boat/sailing per hour. Please plan to come to the island early (see "things to do" on this website for our coffee shop/restaurant/winery recommendations) and relax for bit, or drive around (over the Deception Pass bridge). We don't want you to miss anything, and once you get on the island, it's lovely! Safe travels.
Head to the Fireseed Catering website and check out their resource link. They have a lot of lodging suggestions. More can be found searching Airbnb and VRBO. Book early as things fill up quickly!
It is possible to come just for the day/evening. However, please be advised that Whidbey Island ferries are VERY busy during the summer, especially on weekends. Plan to head over early (it's not unusual to have a 90 minute+ wait) and spend some time exploring beforehand. Know the ferry schedule (Mukilteo/Clinton), and if there are any issues, you can drive around (over the Deception Pass bridge). If you are coming via the Port Townsend/Coupeville ferry, you can make a reservation which is really helpful! Book ASAP, as weekends fill up quickly.
