If you could go back in time and ask either of us if we were looking for a relationship when we first met, we would both without hesitation say "No". However, we couldn't be more grateful that our dear friends (Victor & Rachel) casually set us up to meet each other. Matt knew pretty quickly that Maddie was special and was doing anything to spend more time with her, such as inviting her to the coed softball team, going to a country music festival, and even attempting to have her be his caddie...

Matt realized Maddie was going to be the one while sitting on the banks of the Deschutes River in Sunriver (just behind the Keudell vacation home). And in that moment, he made the decision he needed to ask her to be his girlfriend as soon as possible. In true Matt fashion, he told Maddie that they could be official if she finished a half marathon... it was really a bet he knew he couldn't lose!

The next 4 years of dating flew by, including a short stint of long distance while Matt lived in Seattle, living together for the first time in Portland, raising their puppy (Joey), learning new hobbies together, taking a leap of faith to move to Colorado, and many many adventures together along the way.

Ultimately, Matt dropped the knee and surprised Maddie with a proposal at the same spot he knew she was the one, back on the banks of the Deschutes River in Sunriver! Maddie in true fashion was sporting her love for beer and her company Anheuser-Busch by wearing her favorite AB sweatshirt.

We couldn't be more thankful for the support and love from all our family and friends throughout our relationship, which is why we are so excited to celebrate with you all on the big day!
