Maddy and Sean couldn’t be happier to become husband and wife and spend the rest of eternity together - as they are two souls meant to be together. They are grateful to be surrounded by their friends and family on their special day and can’t wait to celebrate with you next August!
Their love story began in the summer of 2019. Maddy had just started working an internship at the same workplace as Sean, and he noticed her in the CEO’s office one day. Sean immediately looked at his boss and asked “Who is that?!” His boss responded with “No, Sean, she is off-limits. She is related to one of our coworkers and she has a boyfriend” and that went in one ear and out the other. Sean was given the lecture of dipping the pen in company ink, in which he responded “But what if you’re trying to write a whole novel and not just a page?”
Maddy officially met Sean when she was told to help him file papers he was behind on. Sean knew this was the perfect opportunity to lay on the charm. He persistently kept asking her (as co-workers) to grab food together during lunch break. Eventually, Maddy agreed to go out to Pulp and grab a smoothie and Sean strategically brought his new Hellcat that day. He had it all set up and played the Old Dominion “I know you ain’t in love with him, break up with him” song while driving Maddy in his new car to Pulp.
And like you wouldn’t believe, the song actually worked! Maddy couldn’t resist Sean’s bubbly and outgoing personality - he was always making everyone the room erupt in laughter! The summer was ending, and Sean and Maddy spent multiple lunch breaks at Pulp together enjoying each other’s time and getting to know one another better, but she was leaving to go back to college in WV for another 2 years. They didn’t want to continue their lives without one another. Maddy drove back to Ohio to spend a weekend with Sean and his family and it seemed like they created a new level of happiness that they both couldn’t get enough of. However, they made a decision to wait until Maddy moved back home after college to officially start their relationship.
Fast forward one year to December 2020, Maddy was visiting the mutual workplace in hopes that she would run into Sean (and of course see all of her other co-workers) but that specific day, Sean was not in the office. Maddy ended up calling him when she was in the work parking lot and he did not answer. She decided to call one more time and Sean hung up on a work call to answer her. After talking on the phone for awhile, Maddy promised him that once she graduated in a few months, on the day of her graduation (May 8th), she would text Sean her graduation pictures.
May 2021 came around, and Sean did not forget at all what Maddy promised. It was around 8pm on the day of her graduation, and he was beginning to think that Maddy had forgotten. Little did Sean know, Maddy waited until 8pm to send the pictures because she was so nervous for his reaction! Then, with the little hope Sean had left dwindling, his phone went off. His heart pounded around 300 beats per minute in excitement, for he knew this was no mistake. He saw the graduation pictures and strategically waited 15 minutes before sending her a text back to play it cool. This was the moment the seed was planted that would eventually bloom into what is now known as the beautiful love story of Sean and Maddy.
When Maddy moved back home, they met at their favorite place, Pulp, and right after that Sean called his Dad and asked him “How did you know that Mom was the one?” in which his Dad responded “You know, I just kind of knew.” Sean’s response to that was “Dad, I think I am in love.”
Their journey throughout the years has been nothing but pure happiness, true love, and selfless affection for each other. The past 3 years have been filled with numerous mini-golf dates, family vacations, tequila shots, EDM festivals, Mario Party game nights, and of course becoming dog and hedgehog parents to Cookie and Snowball.
Little to Maddy’s knowledge, Sean planned the proposal as soon as he found out they would be taking a trip to Greece, over a year in advance. He bought the ring 6 months ahead of time and kept it hidden inside his Hellcat glove box where he knew Maddy wouldn’t look. While in Greece during their best friend’s wedding reception, the bride handed Maddy her bouquet during the traditional bouquet toss. Confused but excited, Maddy turned around to see Sean down on one knee. She was overwhelmed with happiness because she knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with her soulmate, she said YES before he even asked. Sean, knowing how much time and effort had been put into the proposal, insisted to still say what he planned for so long “Maddy, ever since the moment I first met you, I knew you were the one for me, words can’t even describe how much I truly do love you so I want to give you the rest of my life to show you. Will you marry me?”
