As busy Silicon Valley millennials, Matt and Maddy knew how tough it could be to squeeze in time for meeting new people. That's why they turned to the dating app scene, with "Coffee Meets Bagel" catching their eye. After chatting for a bit, they decided to take the leap and meet up for dinner at Le Moose Crepe Cafe in Fremont, CA. With a blend of Thai and crepe delights before them, they dove into conversation, effortlessly sharing stories about their passions and life journeys. By the end of the evening they realized they were the only ones left in the restaurant, with the restaurant having technically closed 20 minutes prior as the workers quietly cleaned up around them. That was April 12th and every few days after that they would continue to spend time together, quickly becoming more and more inseparable. Early dates include hikes in the area, cooking meals together, and going to a few San Jose Giants minor league baseball games where their first photo together featured here was taken.

For their first anniversary, Matt and Maddy set off on a weekend adventure to Portland, OR. It was their maiden voyage as a couple and solidified their mutual affection for discovery and embracing novel experiences. They savored the culinary delights of Portland, wandered through downtown in the rain, and cherished every moment of togetherness.

Like countless others around the globe, Matt and Maddy's lives were upended in March 2020 as COVID lockdowns swept across the world. They swiftly adjusted to a routine where Maddy would travel to Matt's place for about three days, followed by a day apart, then Matt would visit Maddy for a similar duration. As they continuously shuttled back and forth with essentials like computer monitors, groceries, and cleaning supplies, they couldn't ignore the strain of their frequent travel. It became increasingly apparent that the logical next step was to move in together.

In September 2020, Matt and Maddy took the leap and moved into a home in Mountain View, CA, together. Embarking on this new chapter was thrilling, providing them with an opportunity to deepen their bond and solidify their compatibility for a lifetime.

Celebrating their 4-year anniversary and with COVID restrictions easing, Matt and Maddy fulfilled a long-held dream: a trip to Maui, HI. In their most action-packed adventure yet, they snorkeled alongside sea turtles, braved the treacherous road to Hana drive, indulged in an abundance of fresh seafood, and marveled at the sunset from the summit of Haleakalā National Park.

After some secret planning Matt asked Maddy if she would be interested in a little weekend getaway to one of their favorite areas: Sonoma, CA to which she happily agreed. They embarked on their weekend, excited for time spent together but with Matt secretly knowing what the future held. Matt planned a candle making class where just the two of them spent the morning smelling a wide variety of fall scents to blend their own signature candles, reminiscent of the hours spent together smelling all the candles on their adventures. From there they went to a wine tasting at Chateau St. Jean Winery where they had a whole patio overlooking sunkist vineyards to themselves. After the tasting they made their way down among the vines to take some cute photos together. After a short time Matt got down on one knee and as they say the rest is history.
