Getting Here
We know that Charlottesville is a little hard to get to, especially if you are an international traveler. We really appreciate the effort that you are making to celebrate our wedding with us; if you have any questions please do not hesitate to be in touch! Here are a few helpful hints about getting to C'Ville:
Air
There are not many flights that go in and out of the Charlottesville Albemarle Airport, but it is convenient once you have landed. The airport is located just north of town and you can rent a car at the airport. Richmond (one hour by car) and Washington D.C. (two and a half hours by car or train) have larger airports.
Train
The Charlottesville Train Station is in the center of the City and is serviced by Amtrak. Most major cities north of Charlottesville have train stations with lines that connect to Charlottesville. If you are flying into Ronald Reagan National Airport in DC, you can easily connect to an Amtrak Station by the Metro (DC's underground).
Car
If you are driving from the Beltway around Washington, D.C., take I-66 West to second Rt. 29 exit (at Gainesville). Take the 29 business route straight into C'ville.
If you are driving from the Richmond area you can take either I-95 or 29 North directly into town.
If you are driving from the West, take I-64 East, or take the Pennsylvania Turnpike, I-81 South and I-64 East into Charlottesville.
