Madeline and Gary met in a way they both didn't expect, on the internet! They enjoyed their first date in downtown Oconomowoc, one of their favorite spots in Wisconsin. They got ice cream at Whelan's and walked around Lake Fowler. Three dates later, they officially became a couple and the rest is history!

1.) Play on the worship team at our church and sit and listen to the sermon together

2.) Go on hikes in new places in Wisconsin (Devil's Lake and The Ice Age Trail are some of our top areas)

3.) Sit and talk at new coffee shops (Gondola Cafe and Bistro is one of our all time favorites)

4.) Attend concerts (anything funky or jazzy)

5.) Cook new recipes together

6.) Try new foods and restaurants

7.) Visit family and friends in Michigan

8.) Play board and video games together, with friends, and with family

Gary wanted the proposal to be a complete surprise. He wanted to do it in November, but told Madeline he was thinking of proposing some time in December, so she wouldn't suspect anything (and it worked). Gary contacted Madeline's best friend from high school, Kaylie on Facebook Messenger to scheme the proposal. Madeline, Gary, Kaylie, and her fiancé, Ethan all went to the Mitchell Park Domes Horticulture Conservatory in Milwaukee, WI. Paying attention to the perfect scenery in the tropical dome, Gary decided to propose in front of the koi fish pond with Kaylie snapping the perfect photos (see the photos in our photos tab!) He planned an entire engagement dinner party after the proposal with both of our families. Madeline was shocked and felt so loved.
