Michael and Madison's story begins where every good love story starts: at work. The two worked for the same Domino's franchise between 2019-2023, but only truly got to know one another at a work event in 2023. At that time, Madison was the head of HR and Michael was a store manager.

Each year, the franchise hosted an award ceremony and leadership training in Greenville, SC. Here, the leadership team, central office staff, and store managers from across Georgia and South Carolina would come together to celebrate achievements, brainstorm initiatives for the coming year, and build rapport with one another. (Michael insists we mention that at the ceremony, Madison had the honor of conferring upon him the Humble Hero award).

Following the annual awards ceremony, many of the attendees continued to celebrate and mingle at the local bars. It was here that Madison actually made the first move. She approached Michael and cracked a joke about his submission to the company Halloween costume contest the previous year. He complimented her cardigan in return, and they spent the next few hours flirting over drinks and going on a late-night walk to Waffle House with a group of coworkers.

Michael was smitten immediately, and the very next day sent Madison a message asking her for a date the next time they were in the same city. Unfortunately for Michael, Madison did not respond.

Little did he know, Madison was interested as well, she just took her job (and the corresponding professional boundaries) seriously. She couldn't begin a relationship with one of the store managers whom she oversaw as HR, after all, she processed payroll! Things would change a few months later, when word made its way through the grapevine that Michael was leaving the company to attend law school in Virginia.

When Madison learned that Michael would soon be leaving the company, those professional boundaries no longer seemed quite so insurmountable. With a little encouragement from her friends, she decided it was safe to give him a chance. She approached him once more to share that she would love to continue the conversation right where they had left off, once he was no longer a coworker.

Their first official date came not long after, and from then on, things moved quickly. Late-night video calls, long drives between states, and shared playlists became part of their story. Madison admired Michael’s determination as he dove into law school, while Michael loved Madison’s sense of humor, her knockout good looks, and her devotion for those close to her.

Before long, both knew this was it. What started as an unreturned text message has turned into something much bigger: a partnership built on laughter, loyalty, and shared dreams for the future.
