There is no other place like the stunningly beautiful Pacific Northwest. It’s where a mixture of urban chic and outdoor adventures come together harmoniously and you get to be a part of it. Here’s our list of some wonderful places that are fun and exciting and we hope you can take the time to explore while you’re here. Many are FREE and worth your time visiting.

*Spokane Falls – This is the centerpiece of the “Lilac City” and it’s a sacred place to Native American Tribes. The Spokane Tribe named the falls “STLUPUTQU” meaning “swift water”. The river and its crashing falls served as the center of life and culture for many generations. To visit the falls is FREE but if you want to truly experience its majestic beauty take a 20 minute ride on the Gondolas that go right over the top of the rushing falls. The price is $12.95 for Adults and $7.95 for kids. They offer Seniors/Students with ID/Military discounts of 10%.

*If the Gondolas aren’t for you how about a ride on the famous 1909 Looff Carrousel which sits in the heart of Riverfront Park adjacent to the Gondolas and the tour train? Prices to ride are $2.95 and ages 2 and under are free.

*The MAC- This is an unbelievable Museum of Arts and Culture that allows experiences which will enrich and inspire you. It is one of Washington State’s five Smithsonian affiliates. The collections, exhibitions and programs they bring to us are some of the best in the west. Their collection of Plateau Indian art and artifacts is the largest in the world with over one million objects maintained and preserved.

While here, plan a trip to walk through the 1898 Campbell House located right next door. This 13,000 sq. ft historic residence provides a firsthand look at life in Spokane at the turn of the 20th century. The cost is: $12 for Adults, $10 for Seniors 65+, $10 for Students and with AAA you save $1.00. The price includes both the MAC and the Campbell House tours.

*Historical BING CROSBY House – Come and visit the family home of Bing Crosby which is located at 508 E. Sharp Avenue on the grounds of Gonzaga University. It is filled with nostalgia, memorabilia and stories from his childhood thru to his success. It’s packed with very interesting information and well worth the stop! FREE

*Manitou Park – Put on your walking shoes and stroll thru the amazing 90 acres of almost every flower imaginable as well as breathtaking botanical gardens, arboretum and conservatory. Located at 17th Avenue and Grand Blvd in the Manitou/Cannon Hill neighborhood it’s a perfect place for photos, have a picnic, visit the playground or just enjoy the beauty of this incredible public park. It is worth the beauty you will see and smell. FREE

*Centennial Trail – If you’re in the mood for biking, hiking, horseback riding or running this trail has something for you. This is a paved 40-mile trail that has 18 marked trailheads and spans two states, Washington & Idaho. It borders the beautiful Spokane River, and we can offer suggestions about where you should start and end if interested. This is also a FREEBIE

*Lake Coeur d’Alene Cruises – This happens to be something my parents LOVE to do. It’s an incredible experience to enjoy the lake with family and friends and see the homes of celebrities and sports stars as well as learn the history of Lake Coeur d’Alene. Daily scenic cruises run at 2:30 or 4:30 and are one and a half hours long. Prices are: $28.25 for Adults, $26.25 for Seniors 55+, $20.25 for Youth (6-17) and kids 5 and under are free. Boarding begins 30 minutes prior at Independence Point, West of the Coeur d’Alene Resort. This is a must do if time permits!!!!!!

*Silverwood Theme Park a family fun favorite – it’s 42 miles from Spokane and ticket prices vary. Check them out.

*Mobius Discovery Center for the kids – In the heart of downtown Spokane. 331 North Post Street

*Cat Tales Zoological Park – Great fun and learning for all ages. 17020 N Newport Hwy in Mead, WA.

*Arbor Crest Winery – For all the wine lovers. Beautiful gardens and great wines. 4705 N Fruit Hill Road, Spokane

*Spokane also is home to 15 other wineries. Just think about the fun that would be!

*Spokane boasts 34 craft breweries you can visit. Ask us for the names and locations.
