The islanders are mostly of Mayan-Spanish decent and speak both English and Spanish. They usually refer to the island as San Pedro. The free and easy lifestyle of the island along with its spectacular diving, romantic full moons, breath-taking sunsets, sandy beaches and a dress code of bare feet, tee-shirts and shorts, is what makes San Pedro and Ambergris Caye… La Isla Bonita!

Hol Chan

A major attraction of Ambergirs Caye is the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, an environmentally protected area located south of the island. The park encompasses both land and sea and the shallow waters makes it a perfect place for snorkeling. The reef at Hol Chan is home to many brightly colored fishes and moray eels. It is also a great place for novice divers.

Shark Ray Alley

A thrilling adventure just a short boat ride from town. Shark Ray Alley is a natural aquarium for nurse sharks and rays. An area with typically only eight feet of water, it is a perfect place for snorkeling and swimming for the entire family.

Great Blue Hole

A place that offers the ultimate diving experience. Centuries ago, the Blue Hole was a land cave that eventually was consumed by the sea. Day trips are available for this exhilarating dive; it is a 130-150 feet dive to stalagmite formations. The coral reef around the edge of the Blue Hole is great for snorkeling. Most trips to the Blue Hole will stop at Half Moon Caye for the best in wall diving.

Secret Beach

This is about a 45 min-1 hour bumpy ride on the golf cart, but it’s an adventure! There are lots of busy beach bars and…there are also some quiet spots if you don’t mind exploring a bit. The water and beaches are amazing and a great time!

A Day Trip from San Pedro to Caye Caulker

Whether on an old-school Belizean style fishing boat or a larger catamaran or even a speed boat, you can jam so much fun into a day trip to our little sister island of Caye Caulker. This is another fun and popping spot to get sun, drinks, and enjoy your time with friends.

Truck Stop

One of the coolest places on the island! It is a great spot to explore the beer garden, have some ice cream, and eat at the different container restaurants. It is also a great spot to take your photo by the beautiful Papo BELIZE mural. Grab something to eat and wander back to the lagoon for the sunset while sipping on one of their fruit-infused drinks.

Lobster Fest

San Pedro Lobsterfest is an annual event on Ambergris Caye – celebrating the island and celebrating the start of lobster season. The lobster season in Belize starts on July 1st so you will see lobster on almost every menu. Grilled lobster, lobster kabobs, lobster ceviche, lobster nuggets and more… On Saturday July 13th, there will be a big block party-festival in town with live music, dancing, food booths and more. Going to this you get the chance to interact with the islander's culture and celebration while having amazing food.

We have put together an itinerary of what we (Madi and Matt) plan to do on the days leading up to the wedding, day of wedding, and after the wedding (ex., snorkeling, Secret Beach, fishing, Caye Calker and Lobster Fest). We would love for you to join us on the adventures we plan to go on while we are on the island, but we also want you to enjoy your time and do what you want to do. This is your vacation, and we want to provide you with fun things to do! For different activities we will get group codes. However, those codes and activity bookings will not be available until we are closer to the date.
