It all started at a Bad Habit’s concert at Natalie’s Music Bar. Madi’s friend, Sarah Pettit (nee Raies), and Varun’s friend David Pettit were going to Sarah’s father’s rock concert and invited both Madi and Varun individually. Madi and Varun hit it off, and talked all night while jamming out to classic rock. A few months later, Varun got the nerve to ask Madi out for a date and the two have been inseparable since.

Since then, Madi and Varun have continued to share a love for music, often frequenting Columbus’s record stores so they can add to their combined collection or going to concerts.

They are massive foodies and have been eating their way across Ohio, the country, and the world together. They love to cook together at home making bread, homemade ice cream, tandoori chicken and so much more. Varun has slowly come to terms with half the appliances in their kitchen being pink.

Varun has shared his love of soccer with Madi and together they have seen live games at storied arenas such as Camp Nou in Barcelona and Allianz in Munich. When in season, they spend their weekend mornings watching soccer games and cooking breakfast, or meeting up with friends to watch games at Endeavor Brewing and Land Grant Brewing.

Most of all, Varun and Madi share a love of family–both their given family and the family they have chosen over the years. It has been a pillar in their lives and they are so grateful to get to share this weekend with all of their friends and family.
