Like most modern love stories, it all started with a swipe right. After texting for a while, Mady and Nick proved they weren’t catfishing at a coffee shop on the Vancouver Waterfront. While Nick was relieved to see Mady had a normal gait pattern, Mady was pleased Nick did not lie about his height. Conversation was so easy that typical first date conversations about TV shows and hobbies were replaced with faith, values, and life goals. Many dates followed and each were filled with laughter, adventure, and average food. As time went on, they continued to grow closer, setting aside Friday nights as “date night,” finding (and attending) a church, spending quality time with each other’s friends and family, and, yes, even rooting for one another’s teams (Go Dawgs! Go Beavs!).

From tailgates to concerts to finding the best margarita in town, Mady and Nick decided to take their next adventure international.

In early March 2025, they traveled to Playa del Carmen (aka Cancun) for a week, breaking away from their long weekend vacations in the PNW. During a surprise pre-dinner photo shoot, Nick got down on one knee and Mady (obviously) said yes to forever!

Since the engagement, Mady and Nick have been excited to share the news of their engagement and upcoming wedding. They are looking forward to spending their special day with family and friends!
