Picture of Our Story

We met in the summer of 2018 at an internship while we were both in college.

Funnily enough, Maeve was actually interviewed by Sameer’s mom for the job before she even met Sameer. When he asked his mom, “Who’s that cute girl you interviewed?” he was “lovingly” told to shut up and not screw up his chance at a job by worrying about the pretty girl.

Fast forward to day 1 of work and our cubes were conveniently right next to each other. Sameer promised his friends he’d be professional and wait till the end of the summer to ask her out so as to not interfere with their work; a promise he almost immediately broke by asking her on a date during their second week.

The next two months were spent trying every coffee shop, restaurant, and brewery in Atlanta while keeping a rather obvious office romance “under wraps”.

A year later, Maeve finished up at Emory after a fun four years running track and cross country, and double majoring in Math and Computer Science. At the same time, Sameer completed his fifth and final year at Georgia State, majoring in how to golf more than 7 days a week; a talent only he has managed to master. We each started our careers in Atlanta and began our life together.

In the years since then, we’ve been lucky enough to have taken countless trips, grown up together and supported each other’s personal and professional goals, developed meaningful friendships, taught each other strange and often useless skills, moved once or twice or twelve times, played hours and hours of games, adopted a puppy named Olive and most recently, planned a beautiful wedding to celebrate our love with our closest loved ones.

One winter Sunday, we woke up to a rare sight in Atlanta - snow! After a cozy morning in playing cards and drinking coffee, Sameer suggested we go for a wintry walk. When we got to the lake in the middle of Piedmont Park, Sameer dropped to one knee and popped the question, and Maeve excitedly said yes!

We are so grateful to now be celebrating with each of you, in person or in spirit, as we start the next chapter of our life together. We can’t wait to see what comes next!
