Q + A

What is the attire for the Friday night welcome party event?

This event is open to all wedding guests and begins immediately following the rehearsal dinner. Check the "weekend events" tab for more information. Gentlemen can wear button downs with nice jeans or khakis, but no jacket or tie is required. Ladies can wear a dress (any length), skirt and top, or nice pants and blouse. This is on a rooftop so you may want a jacket or sweater as the sun goes down. We want you to be comfortable this night and not overthink what you are wearing! Come and enjoy!

What is the attire for the ceremony and reception?

Black Tie. This means floor-length dresses for ladies and tuxedos for gentlemen. Please note the reception is outside and on grass. Feel free to wear flats or sandals. Block-style heels are recommended if you would prefer to wear a heel!

Will there be transportation provided to the wedding ceremony and reception?

Transportation will be provided from the Staybridge Suites on E Bay St to the Lutheran Church of the Ascension. The exact time of pick-up will be added here ahead of big day. Trolleys will be waiting outside the church immediately following the ceremony to take guests to the reception venue. Following the reception, trolleys will take guests to Congress Street Social Club (keep the party going!) or back to the Staybridge Suites hotel.

Can I drive myself to the ceremony and reception?

Near the Lutheran Church of the Ascension, there will be a small lot located on the State Street side of the church open to wedding guests. There will also be pay-to-park street parking available. Please note both of these options have limited availability. Parking at our reception venue, HollyOaks on the Marsh, is extremely limited, less than 20 spaces. We suggest riding the provided trolleys to and from the reception venue!

How do I RSVP?

Your wedding invitation will include a response card. Please mark if you will be attending or declining and drop the pre-addressed postmarked envelope in the mail. RSVP's are due back no later than March 1st.

Are children invited to the wedding?

The only children invited to celebrate our wedding events are children we've invited into our wedding party. Thank you for understanding and we hope you enjoy your date night!
