The story begins on September 3, 2022 in the North Shore of Pittsburgh. Our friends insisted that we meet one another and after some hesitation we decided to go to a Pirate tailgate. We ended up playing drinking games and squashing as many lantern flies as we could before heading to Tequila Cowboy to continue our nice quiet conversation. We talked about the most important things; our families, pets, and Italy of course. We hit it off right away, but it took Greg a while to ask Maggie on a date.
Almost 3 weeks later, we went on our first date to DiAnoias. We shared wine, salad, caccio e pepe, and pizza (yes all of that). Then we went for a ride in Greg's convertible that ended in a photo shoot that we will never forget. Our next date and perhaps the most important was a week later at Mambo Italia, where we had the usual sharables again and we became an official couple.
Since then we’ve done everything together; hang outs at the pool with both our families, traveling as much as possible, countless sporting events, and just about everything in between.
The engagement came next, when Greg asked a friend of his for a private tour of Heinz Field and access to the field. He came through and we were able to take a private tour of the stadium, where Greg popped the question on the 22 yard line, to symbolize the year we met. His friend videoed and took pictures of the whole thing and we are forever grateful for that! It was the best day of our lives!
In the last two years, we’ve purchased our first home, traveled to Deep Creek, North Carolina and Italy (both Introdaqua and Maierato each of our fathers’ towns)!
The most important thing in both of our lives is family and friends! They are the reason why we are here together today. The love we share with one another is a direct reflection of our families’ love for us.
We absolutely must talk about our friends Chad and Kristina, the matchmakers! They recognized the potential in us even though we had our own reservations about love and if we would ever find “our person”, but we did thanks to them and together we are the happiest we have ever been! The message is clear, never give up on yourself and the potential surprises that life has to offer because you just never know. Our open hearts and minds have allowed us to thrive so far. “Our story” is far from over, but in the meantime, we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone at our wedding!
