— Tequila Shots — Bobby was in Palo Alto celebrating his future groomsman‚ Riley Hanley's surprise birthday party․ Mutual friend‚ Kaitlyn Mamizuka‚ texts her supposed "Olympic‚ Stanford" friend to come hang out․ Bobby expected a tall‚ blonde girl to walk in the door‚ but instead‚ in walked a beautiful latina․ Maggie and her future bridesmaid‚ Nicole Oliveira‚ had left their domino’s game wanting to escape the college scene at 23 years old and met Kate at the bar‚ the Old Pro (RIP)․ Latina Maggie (and the tequila shots on a shot ski she was buying) immediately caught Bobby's eye and so he bought her a Cuba Libre‚ which little did he know‚ was her drink of choice․ Within the month‚ they had shared a Santacon together‚ a night talking until 4am‚ & finally - Bobby had asked Maggie out on a proper date and they never looked back!

— Tuesdays — After deferring two years of college because of the Olympics‚ Maggie is currently a super senior at Stanford․ Her only day off from practice is Tuesdays․ In order to hang out more‚ Bobby asks his boss at the time‚ Brett Stewart‚ to take Tuesdays off from work․ For the next 6 months‚ Maggie and Bobby’s relationship grows with the many Tuesday dates they go on and days spent at Brett’s beach house in Martin’s Beach (just south of Half Moon Bay)․ Maggie is still hesitant to tell her teammates about her ‘boy’‚ but Bobby is determined to change the narrative․ By the summer of 2017‚ they are “official” and the “L” word has been used!

— Worlds & First Travel Trip — Maggie has World Championships in Budapest‚ Hungary․ She is hoping to go on a trip after the tournament‚ but none of her teammates were able to join her…Bobby givingly volunteers․ Bobby comes to watch Team USA win the World Championships and then travel to Croatia with Maggie afterward․ First travel trip together?…let’s just say they both passed each other’s tests with flying colors․ This led to the love of traveling they still have today․

— Married to the Game — Bobby being 17 steps ahead tells Maggie that he is serious about this relationship and their future․ Maggie warns Bobby that she is “married to the game” (if you know Maggie‚ he’s paraphrasing)․ Bobby says he is willing to do whatever to make it work‚ even if it means quitting his job‚ traveling around the world‚ and stopping in to see Maggie while she plays professionally in Budapest‚ Hungary to pursue her professional career․ Facetime‚ virtual Tuesday 'date nights’‚ & travel trips around the world become a normal occurrence. #sacrifices #Bob’sWorldTour

— Spare Change — Bobby runs out of money and needs to get a job․ He moves down to Southern California and gets a job with his best man‚ Jake Stenberg‚ at a soccer company․ He moves in with two of Maggie’s USA teammates‚ Mel Seidemann & Jamie Neushul‚ and lives in Orange while Maggie decides to play another season abroad‚ this time in Spain․ Maggie quickly finds a new home‚ her Latin roots‚ and amazing friends in Sabadell, Spain (30 min metro from downtown Barcelona)․ They once again found themselves living a long distance relationship and deciding to meet in places like South Africa to get some in person time together․

— Livin' in the LBC — Maggie finishes her season in Spain with an AMAZING Treble! (soccer talk meaning they won the league‚ league cup‚ and champion’s league!) When Maggie gets back to the US‚ she and Bobby move in together - BIG DEAL - and start living in Long Beach for full-time Olympic training․ They went from long distance to roommates… it surprised them both how easy this transition was․ They quickly fall in love with the city and realize why Snoop Dogg talks about it in his songs all the time․

— COVID Coping — COVID ruins everyone’s plans․ Especially Maggie’s and all the other future Olympians’‚ postponing the Tokyo Olympics for another whole year․ It was devastating and Maggie handled it as well as anyone․ Many days at the Azevedo’s helped them get through the trying times․ Also‚ instead of coping with COVID by buying a puppy like most millennials‚ Maggie and Bobby buy a…condo! After falling in love with Long Beach and Belmont Shore‚ they decide to move a block and half and buy their first home together!

— Tokyo 2020ne — Finally‚ Maggie can play in the Tokyo Olympics! She and Team USA dominate and win GOLD! Bobby watches from Colorado with the rest of the Steffens․ Maggie is hopeful that Bobby is asking for her parent’s blessing during this time‚ but he didn’t get the message and was a little too wrapped up in the Olympics at that point․ Whoops!

— Vamos al Espana — Maggie decides to play another year in Spain at Sabadell․ This time Bobby decides to join her and live abroad together․ They love it! Maggie’s Spanish continues to get better while Bobby’s is still a work in progress․ Maggie is thinking Bobby has already gotten permission from her parents‚ so she is now patiently waiting for a proposal․

— Maggie is Certain — Maggie and Bobby go to Culebra‚ Puerto Rico (where her parents currently live & one of their most special places) with the whole Steffens family․ Maggie is certain that Bobby is going to pop the question there․ She wakes up every morning nervous that today is the day․ Patience Maggie! Bobby likes to keep Maggie on her toes‚ plus Bobby is just now asking Carlos and Peggy for their blessing․ They continue to go on daily adventures & make the most of each day‚ like they always do!

— FINALLY! — After many months of hints from Maggie‚ Bobby was ready․ He had devised an ingenious plan to take her on a Duffy in the Alamitos Bay in Belmont Shore․ He somehow surprised her & after some salsa dancing on the boat with the sunset in the background‚ the long wait was over․ It had all been worth every second to share that moment together‚ everything was perfect and Bobby asked Maggie to be his forever‚ his ADMV․ And Maggie said “YES!” and continued to celebrate the night with some of their closest friends, and of course… made an appearance at the LBC Dogz.
