SAN JUAN ACTIVITIES

Visit https://www.discoverpuertorico.com/ for all things PR.

Sample Itinerary (travel blog): https://findloveandtravel.com/puerto-rico-4-days/

El Yunque Rainforest: Bring a picnic and explore! Go hiking, explore waterfalls, & even zipline! El Yunque is the only rainforest in North America.. it is a must do! Private tours or just explore on your own - we will be happy to help make sure you experience this adventure!

Old San Juan: The Oldest City in America. BEAUTIFUL, history, shopping, art & architecture, drinking, and eating to be done here! Walk the cobblestone streets lined with colorful architecture and simply get lost in history.

El Morro: This is the 16th century fort and it's SO super cool! You have to go here. In its history, El Morro was never defeated by the enemy. Take a pic on the cannon or sweaty, on the floor against a wall #steffenschristmascard

Other castles: Castillo de San Cristobal, Capilla del Cristo

The “paseo”: that goes all around the base of the fort; it’s a nice perspective and relatively new. Visit the Gate to the City and follow the cobblestone street up to the Catedral del San Juan to feel like you've just landed off your pirate ship! Don't look too far & you'll find El Convento.

La Perla: Colorful neighborhood where Despacito was filmed on the way to Old San Juan, but DO NOT GO HERE AT NIGHT.

Bacardi Factory: Rum taste... why not?!

Go surfing! Kite Surfing, Jet-Skiing, PR has it all! Hit the BEACHES! Escambron Beach is right near El Caribe Hilton & is full of turtles, surfing opportunities, & relaxing on the hammocks. You can even get your scuba license here! Condado Beach is also near by and a great place to spend the day! Go a little bit further and visit the FAMOUS Isla Verde and party on the beach!

La Marqueta: A walk away from El Caribe Hilton, enjoy the ocean breeze while you try different food trucks & drinks. Great vibe & may even find yourself at an outdoor concert by night.

Ocean Park: Find the volleyball courts and the beach gym near Calle Taft! This is a great beach of both locals and tourists. Great kite-surfing on windy days. Tres Palmas Surf Shop and Playero both great surf shops in the area. Eat at Kasalta. This is where the Steffens grew up going as kids to visit family and spend hours and hours on this beach! Go enjoy.

Bike tour or Rentals to OSJ, Paddle Board or Kayak: Rentals at VIP Adventures, Night Kayak, or SUP Action - find the family of Manatees in the Condado Lagoon!

Ashford Ave & Calle Loiza: Fun shops, restaurants, bars, and Boutiques

Santurce: Art & Culture hub, tons of museums, & home to La Placita (see night life), young professionals and a sense for real PR! Stop at Lote 23 for some food trucks when hungry!

Distrito T-Mobile: Hip, new area with restaurants, bars, concert facility, & even a zipline going across the top! Spend the night here to see what the young crowd is up to. Make sure to visit La Barrita del Lado for a cocktail.

Casinos: place your bets at Casino del Mar & Casino Metro

Day Adventures

Snorkel & island trip to Culebrita: early pick up and late drop off, plan ahead. You can take a Catamaran day trip there as well! Otherwise, join the Bride & Groom after the wedding to visit this favorite island! Even visit the #1 Beach in the World Flamenco Beach.

Bioluminescent Kayak Tour in Fajardo: enough said... this can be booked through trip advisor or other online resources!

La Parguera is a must do if you have the time and are willing to adventure! If you are an adventurer, you can snorkel in the nearby bioluminescent bay & Scuba the famous wall, experience some of the Island’s best scuba diving, or charter a boat to see dozens of tiny mangrove islands. Find yourself standing in the Caribbean Sea with a drink in your hand & contemplating ever returning home. (Rentals at Parguera Water Sports)

Pinones - SUCH A FUN PLACE! Basically a huge long strip of beach, roadside kiosks “chinchorros” seafood restaurants, pinchos, beach bars. Very local. Check Out:

Suncity rooftop

The Ocean bar + restaurant

Waterfront

Mi Casita

La Posita

Playa Pinones

Rent a car & drive around the island... stop at every beach for a drink & stop at every cave for an adventure!

Ziplining in Toro Verde

Rincon: surfers paradise. Totally different vibe on the west side of the island. It’s incredibly beautiful, laid back, slightly crunchier/organic/wellness/outdoorsy vs. party party in San Juan.

Aguadilla: Escape the hustle & bustle of San Juan & relax in this beautiful beach town. Visit Crash Boat Beach & find yourself lost in the nature of the island!

Pork Highway (Caguas) - 45 min drive from San Juan - up in the mountains, 3 mile strip of “lechoneras” (open fire roasted pig). Lechonera Los Amigos and El Mojito are great spots & Bourdain went to Los Pinos. You can literally do a pork crawl from lechonera to lechonera.

Las Tinajas - waterfall/swimming hole. The entrance is on an old man’s property, pay him to park and walk ~20 min to the swimming hole. You can spend half a day here adventuring, exploring waterfalls, sliding down natural rock slides, cliff jumping, etc.
