John and Maggie met in May, 2019 when both decided to enroll in a Post Baccalaureate Program in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in hopes of getting into dental school. What neither of them knew is that not getting into dental school that first time was the best thing that could’ve happened to them. Maggie and John started out as friends as they navigated a new city, difficult classes, and the trials of trying to get into dental school together. They started dating in January of 2020, and two months later, the pandemic struck-- and spring break turned into long distance. Though early in the relationship, there was never a question of if we would stay together but rather how we would make it work-- a theme that stuck with them for 4 more years of long distance.

Four years and two dental school acceptances later, the Redle family invited Maggie to join their ten day family vacation to Italy in August of 2023. On the second day, after an all day tour of Florence, John insisted that the whole family walk up the top of the Piazzale Michelangelo. If you know Maggie, you know she was rolling her eyes and sassily asking John why he insisted on walking even MORE after our 8 mile tour. Once we reached the top of the hill, Maggie turned around to ask John “why on earth are you not looking at this view!” to find John on a knee where he asked her to be his wife.

In May, 2024, Maggie moved to Columbus to *finally* put an end to over 4 years of long distance after her graduation from dental school. They are enjoying living in the same city for the first time in years and recently adopted a golden doodle named Poppy! We feel so lucky to be in love with our best friend, and we can’t wait to celebrate with all of you in April! #ReadyforRedle
