Q + A

What date should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP by April 1, 2025.

Are children welcome?

While we adore your children, we will be hosting an adults only reception. However, we would love to see your little ones at our ceremony! Additionally, babysitting during the reception will be available and can be arranged with Maggie or John!

If I'm not Catholic, can I still participate?

Everyone is welcome to participate in the Mass as much or as little as you would like! In the Catholic church, only those who have received the sacrament of the Eucharist (known as First Holy Communion) can partake in receiving communion. The ushers will indicate, row by row, for guests to come forward to receive communion. Simply remain in your seat if you're not Catholic and don't want to participate. Alternatively, all are welcome to come to the altar while crossing your arms (resting your hands on the opposite shoulders) for a blessing from the priest instead. Although Catholics may kneel to pray, you're not required to kneel, and can opt to remain seated during prayer. We feel so blessed and excited to receive the sacrament of Holy Matrimony in front of all of our family and friends!

Is there a dress code?

Formal Attire. The Old Cathedral asks that no strapless dresses are worn out of reverence. For our April wedding, our ceremony will be held indoors in the Church and the ballroom. We suggest that men wear a suit in any color and women wear a cocktail dress or a nice pantsuit.

Are photos allowed during the ceremony?

Out of respect for the Mass, we ask that you kindly refrain from photos or videos-- and our gal Danielle has those covered!
