Amine and Mai-Len met while working at an NYC public highschool, The Academy for Software and Engineering (AFSE). Amine was working with the Operations Team and Mai-Len was a Program Manager with iMentor, a mentoring non-profit that partnered with AFSE.

Mai-Len and Amine worked together when Mai-Len had to host after school events at AFSE for students and their mentors. Amine would help her sort out logistics and make sure everything she needed was there during the event. Throughout this time they were drawn to each other through observing how passionate they each were about the students in their own ways.

Amine would often go out of his way to connect with students, especially if they were disengaged in the classroom, to make them feel apart of the school community. Mai-Len worked hard to make sure her juniors and seniors were completing college applications and had a plan for their lives after high school.

After a flirtatious encounter at the AFSE Holiday Party that year, Amine invited Mai-Len to dinner early 2018 for their first date. After that evening they were seemingly inseparable. Every day they would take lunch together and on the weekends they were doing a new activity together.

They went on some adventures to Norwalk, Puerto Vallarta, San Juan and finally Punta Cana, Dominican Republic where Amine planned a romantic dinner on the beach and proposed to Mai-Len in 2019.

Since then they have both been working hard to create a life together. Amine starting his own business, Mai-Len starting nursing school and grieving the loss of her father to cancer in 2018. They have been no stranger to challenges and triumphs.

They are so excited to start this new chapter with you all as husband and wife!
