We met on the (dreaded) dating app, Bumble, in 2022. Elliot’s whole profile was based around finding a woman who was, at least, minimally literate, so Maitlin immediately told him she couldn’t read. Conversation quickly moved off the app so Maitlin could tell Elliot all about eels. Our first date was a delicious lunch at Fernside in South Park (Rest in Peace Mushroom and Cauliflower Po Boy. You will be missed), followed by record shopping at Vinyl Junkies. A second date to the zoo soon followed. Music, good food, and animals have become important parts of our relationship. We love going to concerts together, having a good meal (out or at home), and spending time at the zoo, or with our own animals.
