Q + A

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Colorful cocktail! We’d love to see our loved ones in bright colors and fun patterns. Animal print is also appropriate, as we’re getting married at a zoo. If you are planning on wearing heels, we recommend a sturdier block heel or wedge, as the wedding is outdoors. If you’re looking to avoid matching the bridal party, they will be in pink and orange.

What do I do the morning before the wedding?

Your invitation to the wedding also includes admission to the Safari Park on the day of the event, as well as a parking pass.

Are children allowed at the wedding?

We’re getting married at a zoo. It felt cruel to exclude our younger loved ones from attending, so, yes, children are allowed.

How do I get to Kijamii Overlook once I am in the Safari Park?

Starting at 2:00 PM, there will be a shuttle that picks up near the entrance of the park that will drop you off a short walk from the venue. The pickup location is at Caravan Outpost, next to Park Base. The shuttle will run continuously until 10 minutes before the ceremony starts. If you require additional assistance with getting to the venue, there will be an ADA shuttle that can take you directly there, but we will need to know ahead of time.

Where should I stay?

We have reserved blocks of rooms at two different hotels: Rancho Bernardo Inn and Courtyard Marriott. Both are less than 20 minutes from the venue. There are also plenty of other nice options in North County!

When should I arrive?

Please arrive at the Safari Park no later than 2:15 PM, to allow yourself time to park and get to the ceremony site. You are more than welcome to come earlier and enjoy the park during the day.

What airport should I fly into?

San Diego International Airport is the best option to fly into for the weekend. It’s about half an hour from the venue.
