They say when you're least expecting it, when you aren't thinking about it, when you don't even want it anymore, that's when that special someone comes along and changes everything. Well, that's not Greston and Makahla's story. They both were praying and preparing for each other before ever meeting and knew it was just a matter of time before their prayers were answered. Sure, they didn't know the who, the how nor the when, but they knew God hadn't forgotten about them.

After setting up profiles on various dating apps, swiping right on all the wrong people, taking breaks to focus on themselves, countless rounds of small talk, ghosting and getting ghosted, they finally came across each other on Hinge in January of 2020. For some it was love at first swipe (*cough cough* Greston) and for others it took a little more convincing (Makahla).

On a random Friday that also happened to be Valentine's Day, Greston and Makahla went on their very first date at Rocco's Tacos in Brooklyn. Greston insisted they go out to brunch the following Sunday. This was the beginning of a series of back to back dates which included dinners, movies, NBA games and trips to Trader Joe's. They quickly became inseparable and after just 1 month of dating they officially became Makston (their combined couple name).

From the very start of Makston's relationship, they were clear about their intentions, goals and aspirations individually and as a couple. They have been careful to keep God at the center of their relationship. This foundation has been pivotal in the trajectory and success of Makston.

Today, they are engaged and excited to become one in holy matrimony. They're having fun wedding planning, but are most excited about doing life together long after the wedding is over. Please continue to pray for them as they embark on this journey. Cheers to forever!! 🍾🥂
