Let's take this back to August 2020.....

Oh 2020, what a year! This story starts with Makayla being a supportive friend and nervously making a dating profile after a friend suggested we try it out. She NEVER planned on going on a date with some random guy on a dating app. UNTIL....

She matched with a cute mailman that roped her in with his love of animals, Jesus, hard work and baking :)

Nearly puking and knife secured in her purse (she brought this on the first 2 dates just in case), Makayla made the drive to her first date with a random guy on the internet. She certainly wasn't going to the big city of East Moline, so the two young loves met at Smilee's Ice Cream in DeWitt.

4 boxes were checked off in the first few minutes of the date :

1. He was actually tall (the profile checked out so far)

2. He had the cutest smile.

3. He held open the door.

4. He paid for the ice cream. :)

In the very first date they covered politics, religion, family and future goals.

Countless calls, texts, visits to Wartburg, trips around the country, meals cooked together, laughs and love have made up the rest of the years between now and then. We can't wait for forever together and we look forward to celebrating our love with you on JULY 6, 2024!

We know attending a wedding is expensive enough so please do not feel like you need to bring anything with you besides a good attitude and awesome dance moves! We would much rather have your PRESENCE at our wedding than a PRESENT!
