Our Wedding

We met when we were both living in Ohio but unfortunately had precious little time together before Stephenson moved back to New Jersey. We spent the next several months building a friendship through texting, calling, and skyping. Several months later Malinda felt God's call to move to New Jersey, and Stephenson realized that God was telling him why. We started dating October 25, and haven't looked back since. God called Malinda to New Jersey to build relationships with Stephenson and his family, and she wouldn't change those months for anything. We both saw God's hand in our relationship from the beginning and knew God was doing something huge with us. After only a few months in New Jersey God gave us the opportunity to move back to Ohio and gave Stephenson the opportunity to build relationships with Malinda's family just like she got to do with his.

How We Met

Several months later we both felt God leading us toward something more permanent. Stephenson had been itching to go fishing, and we finally went to Deer Creek Park. Malinda learned to fish and got plenty of practice casting (though she still needs much more), and Stephenson caught a perch. We then went for a walk through the park and found a spot overlooking the dam. Stephenson led us toward a bench and we sat while he played with something in his pocket. Stephenson finally asked if fishing had been memorable enough because he wanted to make it more memorable. Then he pulled out a ring box and said, "Will you marry me?" Malinda obviously said yes, though she wasn't allowed to start planning anything for the wedding that day. And now the planning has begun and all that's left is having you join us for the big day. Need to get some "wild" in your system to gear up for the party? Come visit the Columbus Zoo and see animals in indoor and outdoor exhibits. The only warning is that many of the stands throughout the zoo are cash only, and while there are ATMs in the zoo they probably don't belong to the same bank you to. So, to avoid potential fees bring plenty of cash for snacks and souvenirs! And don't forget the sunscreen!

The Conservatory is an indoor botanical garden that houses over 400 plant species inside 83,000 square feet of greenhouse spaces. Sections are divided by climate and landscape: tropical rainforest, arid desert, Himalayan mountains and a bonsai courtyard with centuries-old trees. The Conservatory sits in the middle of Franklin Park, so a summer visit yields access to the 100 acres of greenspace as well. Don't skip the butterfly garden!

The Scioto Mile opened in 2011, bringing new greenspace and recreational pathways to the Downtown riverfront. Since then, countless joggers, bikers, stroller-pushers and dog walkers have taken to The Mile to enjoy the view. Easton opened in 1999 as one of the first "lifestyle center" style shopping developments in the US. Developed by L Brands founder Les Wexner, Easton is home to 1.6 million square feet of retail space that includes some the region's premiere national shopping chains including Burberry, Tiffany &amp; Co, Nordstrom, Henri Bendel, Michael Kors, Crate &amp; Barrel, H&amp;M, American Girl, C. Wonder, Sur La Table and more.
