Twin Cities Pride Weekend
June 29-30 is Twin Cities Pride weekend! We promise we didn’t realize this when we picked the date…but we hope our LGBTQ+ loved ones will still get a chance to celebrate! Check out the website as the dates approach to find fun things to do in the cities. Popular gay bars in the area include The Saloon, LUSH, and The Gay 90’s.

Uptown Area
Minnesota is known as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes,” and we invite you to explore them! In the Uptown area, you can kayak or paddle board though 3 connected lakes (Bde Maka Ska, Lake of the Isles, and Cedar Lake) - Rentals are available at Bde Maka Ska.
Nearby, explore Lake Harriet’s bandshell, bird sanctuary, rose garden, peace garden, and playground.
Some Uptown dining favorites include Sebastian Joe’s Ice Cream, Red Cow Uptown, Punch Pizza, Rustica Bakery, World Street Kitchen, Milkjam Creamery (serving dairy and vegan options), and Lago Tacos.
Uptown is the place to be on the weekend! Check out Up-Down Minneapolis (arcade and bar), Uptown Diner, Bryant Lake Bowl, Nightingale, and Volstead’s Emporium (hidden speakeasy).
Mall Of America

The Mall of America is the largest mall in the United States, meaning there’s no shortage of things to do! Along with shopping and food, you’ll find Nickelodeon Universe (indoor theme park), Crayola Experience, and Sea Life to be some of the best highlights.
Como Area (St Paul)
Explore Como Zoo and Conservatory (for free!), ride the Carousel, and check out Como Town for kids. Take a walk or rent kayaking equipment at Lake Como.
Mill City
Eat a meal on Aster Cafe’s gorgeous patio, walk across the Stone Arch Bridge, and explore Mill Ruins Park. Learn more about the massive mill explosion by visiting Mill City Museum, where you can see Minneapolis history up close.
South Minneapolis
Check out gorgeous Minnehaha Falls and the surrounding park, along with nearby Lake Nokomis (rentals available). Favorite dining in the area includes Sea Salt, Hot Plate (brunch), Grand Ole Creamery, Pumphouse Creamery, and Sovereign Grounds.
