Mandy and Tom met on a random Monday night at Champs bar in Virginia Tech. The two had mutual friends that wanted to meet up. That's right, Tom and Mandy were basically on a blind double date and had no idea they just crossed paths with their forever person. In that quite bar Tom bought her a drink (pineapple vodka), they overly competed at the pool table (she won) and Tom mustard up the courage to go in for the kiss!!

Anti-climatically, Mandy rejected him and stated she does not kiss in the bar. Tom didn’t hear the end of the mockery from his bestfriend Adam! Later, Mandy drove Tom home that night (she only had one drink with lots of water) and she thought for sure Tom would not recover from the rejected kiss. Against all odds, before Tom got out of the car he said to Mandy: “Well we aren’t in the bar anymore.” That's when they shared their first kiss… the rest is history!!

The two from then on started living their lives as one. He attended Mandy's NWSL Draft selection, and they shared their first Christmas at Tom’s family home in Bumpass, VA. He supported her demanding soccer career, and she supported his enlistment in the US Army. Gradually overtime they created the strongest love that continues to grow through a world-wide pandemic and two years of long-distance!

Tom and Mandy got engaged on Jacksonville Beach on December 21st, 2020. The two shared the moment alone when Mandy believed it was a normal picnic with "pub" subs, but Tom had other plans. They had a mini photoshoot where Tom strategically started to record, capturing the precious moment when he got on one knee.

Since then, Tom graduated a selection course in the Army and is stationed at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia. Mandy has been playing professional soccer in Pitta, Sweden since January. She plans to finish her contract in November and play for the National Women's Soccer League in America next year (preferably close to Tom).
