Pros: closest airport to wedding venue and accommodations (approx 20 mins drive to Lake Placid)
Cons: flies to and from Boston and New York City only. Travelers would need to fly into one of those cities first, then take a separate Cape Air flight up to Adirondack Regional Airport. Cape Air only has 3 daily flights to and from Saranac Lake. No rental or Uber options in Saranac Lake. There are taxi services you can call for pick up.

Pros: the second closest airport to our wedding site (approx 1 hr drive). There are rental options in Plattsburgh.
Cons: direct flights to and from PA (Philadelphia) and FL (Orlando, Ft Lauderdale, etc...) only. Anyone flying into the Plattsburgh airport would have to first fly into one of the cities listed on their site.
Pros: direct flights to and from many major US cities; on-site car rental service; super easy airport navigation.
Cons: approx 2-hour drive from airport to wedding venue and accommodations; drive includes ferry ride across Lake Champlain ($10-$15 paid at the gate to cross, super easy, GPS takes you right to it).
Pros: direct flights from lots of cities. Rental options at airport. The drive from the airport is so beautiful.
Cons: approx 2-2.5-hour drive from the airport to Lake Placid.
There are numerous hotel and AirBNB options in Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. The wedding is in Lake Placid, but Saranac Lake is only a 10-15 min drive.
Closest to the wedding venue. Multiple room suites available.
There are so many mountains in the area to hike. I completed the Saranac 6 in 6 days in 2022 and that was also when we started chatting for the first time. Kirk is almost done with these 6 mountains and we both are also working on the 28 fire towers with the 46 high peaks to follow. We hike new mountains every time we visit. Azure Mountain is where Kirk proposed. A moderate hike (1.5 miles to the fire tower) that has amazing views. Baker Mountain is a moderate-difficult hike (approx 1 mile to summit) in Saranac Lake that is my favorite mountain. I have hiked this mountain 4 times and the views amaze me every single time.
You can ride the cliffside coaster or take a run on the 1980 Olympic bobsled track.
You can raft, climb, or hike here.
Drive to the top of Whiteface Mountain. Fees charged to enter the park. Handicap accessible.
My favorite coffee shop is a must in Lake Placid or Saranac Lake!!
