Raven has been my best friend for over a decade. Aside from maybe Josh, she's the most important person in my life. After moving to Hawaii for college, she moved to the Pacific North West and now lives in Portland. So it's just a short drive anytime I want to see her. Funny story, she moved to Portland the same weekend we moved to Seattle. As Joshua and I were driving through Utah we saw Raven pulled over off the freeway with her family. How serendipitous! Since then, we've been able to see each other almost every other month. She went with me when I bought my wedding dress. Sipping cheap champagne with my best friend was the best and most relaxing way to choose a dress to say "I do" in. Raven is such a spectacular person and there's no other person I'd rather have standing next to me on this special day. -Mara

Makalah is my cousin. We used to joke that God made us cousins because neither of our mothers could handle us as sisters. Makalah and I were living together when I first started dating Joshua. One night, we had Josh and Rick come over and play some games. While we were playing games Josh slipped and said "I love you" to me in the middle of the game. After they left, Maklalah jokingly tells me "Ew, Manana. He loves you. Run." All in jest, because I knew in her own way that was her seal of approval. I couldn't imagine my wedding without her. -Mara

Naija is my little sister, her mom and my dad got married in 2015 but Naija and I had this instant sisterly connection.When Josh and I told her about our engagement she was not at all surprised. Her words were "kinda figured this was gonna happen soon, and dibs on being a bridesmaid."I'm so excited to have my little sister in my wedding.-Mara

Victoria is Joshua's cousin. She's one of the most fun and laid back people I've ever met.Vic was the first of Joshua's family that I ever met. Joshua invited me to watch hockey with him one night except, he failed to mention that there was a big group of people. So my dumb self got all gussied up to watch hockey with a guy I had a crush on and I ended up spending most of the night talking to his cousin and becoming friends with her.Now she's officially my family.-Mara

Rick has been my best friend for about 15 years. In all honesty, besides maybe Mara, he's the one person I need when I get married.Because of our long friendship, Rick's opinion means a lot to me. When Mara and I first got together, she came over and made the three of us dinner. We just spent the whole night laughing, hanging out, drinking some beers and just enjoying each others company. After Mara left, Rick and I went about our day and he gave me his seal of approval. He told me everything I already knew about Mara, but him putting into words that I needed to move forward with this relationship meant so much to me. That's why he's my best man.-Josh

Bryan is my cousin, he and I are described as being opposite sides of the same coin. After Mara and I got engaged we went downtown and met up with a few friends to celebrate. Everything was so perfect that night, I was with my closest friends and family, celebrating my life with the woman who's about to be the newest Cano. I watched Bryan walk up to her, hug her and say "welcome to the family lady." I'm so happy he'll be standing up there with me while I'm getting married.-Josh

Bailey is my brother, he's 6 years younger than me and I take the big brother role very seriously. Time spent with my little brother today is the same as it was 15 years ago. For Christmas 2018 some family came up to Seattle so we could all spend Christmas together. After all the gifts and breakfast, my mom went to her hotel room, Mara and her cousin took a nap and Bailey and I just played video games like old times. So much has changed in my life. I've found the woman I'm going to spend forever with, moved to Seattle and set up a home and with all that, I can still steal a moment with my brother.-Josh

Khyren is Mara's little brother. He's a righteous dude, after all these years Mara and I have been together, it's pretty cool getting to know this kid.Over the summer of 2019, we flew him up to Seattle as a graduation present. He had a blast, we went to some festival in the park where a bunch of cover bands were playing. So, we grabbed some delicious food truck food and had a little picnic. The last band of the evening was covering Khyren's favorite band--Rush. When the first few notes of Tom Sawyer came out of the speaker, that kids face lit up like crazy. It was so cool to be able to see my new brother experience and love Seattle the way I do.-Josh
