Getting to BAQ
Ernesto Cortissoz Barranquilla International Airport (BAQ)
Airport: The main airport in Barranquilla is Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport (BAQ). It is located about 30 minutes from the Marriott Barranquilla Hotel.
Flights (U.S to Barranquilla): There are direct flights from Miami, Bogota, and Panama City with easy connections from most U.S. hubs. We recommend American Airlines, Copa Airlines, and Spirit Airlines.
Based on experience, it will be easier to flight from either Miami to Barranquilla, or Panama to Barranquilla.
At the Airport: Taxis and ride-share apps (Uber) are available, but for peace of mind, we recommend booking a trusted taxi at the official airport counter, arranging a hotel pickup, or let us help you set up the travel plans for you.
If you’re staying at the Marriott Hotel, the ride from the airport to the hotel costs about 50,000 COP (around $13 USD). The fare is paid in cash directly to the driver.

Getting Around BAQ
We strongly recommend that you do not rent a car or drive during your stay. Think of Barranquilla traffic as a wild dance — fast, unpredictable, and not exactly beginner-friendly.
Locals are pros at weaving through traffic, but for visitors, it can feel overwhelming (and parking isn’t much fun either). Instead, sit back, relax, and let taxis, ride-share apps, or a private driver do the work. Trust us — it’ll save you time, and stress.
We recommend booking the transportation directly at the front desk of the hotel. If this is unavailable, we recommend using apps like Uber.
