It started with an Instagram DM at 10:30pm, “Hi.”
We had no idea who the other person was at the time, no idea of the story we would write, and no idea of the life we would create together. All we said was, “Hi.”
Fast forward to 7.5 years later, and now you’re scrolling through our wedding website!
The expression, “opposites attract”, I would say fits us perfectly. Zach is down to earth, and very easy-going with a sensitive soul. On the other hand, I can be over the top, vivacious and overly analytical. All of our personality traits somehow simultaneously balance us out into the couple we are today and the couple we continue to be.
From the very beginning, Zach and I have always shared a curiosity for travel and adventure. We’ve been on several cross-country road trips and promise to
continue exploring together hand in hand. It was on these trips that we found our love for out West, which has led us to where we live today. From suburbia to the mountaintops of Colorado our love continues to grow.
Our story really became one for the books when we decided to tackle almost all of the biggest life events a person could experience...in the span of ONE year. We got engaged, packed our bags, left our lives behind in Ohio and moved across the country, both started new jobs, bought our first house, planned a wedding, AND added a new member to our family, our Husky named Hank to join our other boy, Johnny. Talk about a whirlwind!
Together, the four of us are so excited to see what this new chapter has to offer. Here’s to a lifetime of laughter, happiness, good health and SO many more memories to be made.
We can’t wait to make it official and say, “I Do.”
12.26.21
We spent our Christmas holiday in Colorado. December 24th, 2021, marked our five year anniversary together. We celebrated, we laughed, we ate and had a great time.
December 26th, 2021, we decided to go for a hike through the Rocky Mountains. Going for hikes, being outdoors and exploring is something we always do together. We were excited because we had never hiked through the Rockies, let alone during the winter.
It was 7:30am, we were preparing and gathering all of our gear for the hike. We drove up to the mountain and started walking the trailhead, trekking through inches of snow. Our destination point was called “Dream Lake”. Little did I know that “Dream Lake” would take on a whole new meaning.
We finally made it to the top of the mountain. No one else was around. There was a massive wind gust blowing all the snow around us. We set up a tripod to snap a picture, we posed, we smiled and then Zach gave me a big hug. He started to ask me if I’m excited to move out West with him. Of course I answered, “yes!!” He then started to ask me if I was ready to spend the rest of my life with him. In that moment it hit me. I answered, “WHAT IS HAPPENING?!” He looked at me with a huge smile and got down on one knee and asked THE question… “Will you marry me?”
In the middle of a mountain top blizzard, that moment that every girl dreams of… happened, it freaking happened! Instantly, I started to cry and gave him a hug and couldn’t let go. Nervously he asked, “so….is that a yes?” I started to laugh and yelled, “WELL YEA!!!”
From that point on, we started an entirely new chapter in our lives together. Here’s to writing our next one!
