Can I bring my dog?
No. We already have three dogs, and whilst the house is set on the River Severn, we back onto a very busy road. Any escape could result in potential disaster. Sorry.
Camping facilities
There is a campsite right next door to Pool House. They can accommodate campervans on hardstandings and electric hook-up, and tents. Alison will be coordinating this for the Bristol possy, so please liaise with her.
Can I stay in a hotel in the town?
Yes. There are a couple of hotels in Upton, which is a five minute walk away along the main road. Catherine is organising hotels on behalf of the Vaughan side of the family, so please liaise with her and Freda. Please view the travel and accommodation section for suggestions.
Can I park my car?
We are afraid that our car park is now full. However, there is a public car park about 500 yards along the road towards Upton, just past Warner's supermarket on the right-hand side.
Can I stay in the house?
Sadly not. The house is only open to the organisers and immediate family. The grounds will have posh porta-loo facilities and a marquee on the day. As we are organising much of the wedding ourselves, the house, particularly the ground floor will be "mission control" on the day, and immediately after the wedding. The house isn't open to guests.
Is the venue open before and after the 31st?
The venue grounds are open to guests from 12 pm on the 31st August only. Ed and I will be involved in the clean-up of the grounds on the 1st September, so we aren't encouraging guests on the day after the party. However, you are welcome to stay in Upton to enjoy an extended stay for as long as you like.
Will there be vegetarian and vegan food on the day?
No. I mean yes. We are a carnivorous pair, but there will be a lovely offering of non-meat etc dishes to satisfy all. Please let us know if you have any allergies.
Are there any bears, wild cats, hippos or snakes?
No, but there are chickens. There is also likely to be mosquitos. We're right on the River Severn (in case we haven't mentioned it), so we can get blighted with the pesky things. Don't be like Rose and Charlie on The African Queen; bring your mozzy repelent.
Are children invited?
We want all of our guests to enjoy our celebration, but we have limited capacity, so, sadly, children aren't invited to our wedding.
Should I change my surname?
If yes, please provide suggestions in your RSVP.
