Our friendship began in 2012 at a physical therapy clinic in San Marcos, Texas. Jason was completing his final internship from his Doctorate of Physical Therapy and I had just began working as rehabilitation tech. I invited him to my 22nd birthday for a celebration with friends in the square, but unfortunately he wasn't able make it. Instead he invited me to dinner in Gruene, Texas where for the first time we got to enjoy time together and I got to know more about this down to earth yet humorous guy I worked with for almost a year. We started dating that summer knowing that our relationship would have to be long distance for a few years.

Although long distance brought ups and downs, we found a way to make San Antonio to Houston work. The support and love I found in Jason were some of the most invaluable qualities that helped me get through the 3 years of PT school.

Two months after I moved to San Antonio, Texas to begin working, we had a work trip to Orlando, Florida. We decided that on the third and last day we would go to Epcot-Disney World since neither of us had ever been. Florida was good to us despite the very recent Hurricane Matthew. We were able to make it to Epcot and we even "went around the world" (only took about 23,000 steps). Needless to say we were both pretty exhausted and for this reason I was not only confused by the sudden flashes of light but also a little bit worried Jason had fallen. Nope. He had arranged a Disney photographer to take the pictures of THE PROPOSAL. The "did he just fall?" was actually Jason getting on one knee to pop the question. And then there were fireworks...
