Marianne grew up in Fallbrook, CA, watching Disney movies, going to Disneyland, and hoping one day she'd find her "prince charming." After figuring out that she wasn't defined by her relationship status, she reconnected with the love of her life. She feels very lucky to write this next chapter of her perfect love story (and hopes to maybe one day write it into a novel). She is a Head of School, a "cat mom," a singer, a historian, and FINALLY a bride.

Devon grew up in Fallbrook, CA, near Marianne, though the two did not meet until (very early) adulthood. He has always known that the key to happiness is finding someone who brings joy to every day and shares in the adventure of life. After seven years of laughter, love, and building memories together, he knew without a doubt that Marianne was the one he wanted to spend forever with. April 3rd marks the beginning of a new chapter, and he couldn’t be more excited to continue this journey side by side.

Megan has been Marianne's best friend since they were 10 years old! Megan and Marianne met when Megan played on a little league team with Marianne's brother, Toby. When they ended up in the same class at La Paloma Elementary in 5th grade, they bonded over their mutual love of Lizzie McGuire. They have been each other's very best friend for 20 years!

Alex is Devon's younger brother and best friend. Folks who know them say that they share a brain. Folks who don't know them mistake them for twins. The couple is thrilled to officially make him their permanent third wheel (see above) and official brother to both Marianne AND Devon.

Claire and Marianne met when they started working at Fusion Academy Solana Beach in 2019, Marianne as a History and English Teacher and Claire as a Scheduling Assistant. After they were promoted (Claire later in 2019 and Marianne in 2021) they found themselves working much more closely together in the scheduling department and discovered that they not only worked extremely well together but they also had a lot in common! Claire and Marianne grew much closer over the next several years and now Marianne considers Claire to be one of her closest friends (and vice versa!). To this day you can hear them saying "I couldn't do this without you," as they leave the building.

Devon and Russell met at Escondido Charter School. These two immediately understood one another and have remained best friends since their high school days, often getting up to antics such as driving around Kit Carson park at midnight and riding down hills in Target grocery carts (possibly even to this day, when they can manage to be in the same state!).

Kylie and Marianne are cousins who very much grew up together. Only a year apart, they always had a built-in bestie at all Hughes family gatherings (which are quite frequent). If you're really nice to them, they'll show you home videos of them performing songs from the Lizzie McGuire movie on the houseboat at Lake Powell. They swear they should have been rockstars.

Once Devon and Russell realized that they each had brothers around the same age, their brothers joined them in their antics. These four continue to make time on the weekends to play games online with each other (they call it gAMbos--as in, games but in the AM) and make up the groom's side of the wedding party. Frank is Devon's fun, goofy friend who is always able to make him laugh!

Marianne met John the same night she met Devon--Senior Prom 2012! She later discovered that Devon had known him even longer (since middle school!). John and Marianne became best friends pretty much immediately and have remained such ever since. They refer to each other with the least creative nicknames: "Jahn" and "Lamb" (as in, Mary had a little lamb).

Sometimes, your coworkers become your closest friends. Marianne started working closely with Claire and Sebastian at the same time and though it's embarrassing to spend so much time at work that you become besties with your coworkers, it's certainly true of the three of them. When Sebastian became a father in 2023, Marianne and Claire titled themselves "aunties" and fawn over the little one when they're lucky enough to see him (and his beautiful mama, Olivia) at work.

Deanna always wanted to be a mom. She always wished to have a daughter first and was blessed with one in May of 1994, four years after her marriage to her husband of 34 years (and counting!), Rodney Hughes. Deanna instilled her values of love, faith, kindness, and hard work in her daughter, who grew up to surpass the dreams she always had for her. She is proud to finally see Marianne marry the love of her life (and give her some grandbabies soon!!).

As the mother of three sons, Janet has devoted her heart and soul to raising them. From creating Peanut Butter Balls at Christmastime to being part of the "demolition team" when the Truchsess family embarked on a construction project, Janet created a fun and happy childhood for Devon and his brothers. Devon is deeply grateful to his mother for developing him into the strong, kind man he has become, and for preparing him for this new chapter.

Marianne has always said she "won the dad lottery." From the day she was born, Rodney has shown his "baby bunny" (his nickname for her since birth) what it means to be a good man: to work hard for your family, to treat women as equals and with the utmost respect, and to love the beautiful life you build with your partner. He looks forward to walking his daughter down the aisle in April!

Bill passed down his kind and supportive nature, his laid-back attitude, and (most notably) his love for the New York Yankees, to Devon. As one of three boys in the Truchsess household, Devon always looked up to his dad, who in turn taught his sons the importance of strength, family fun, and teamwork with one's partner. Devon is excited to start building his own family in April, equipped with the guidance of his father.

Toby is Marianne's younger brother. Through the years, Toby and Marianne have created a very strong sibling bond (Toby calls it "twin telepathy," though he is two years younger than her). They have a unique way of making each other laugh until their stomachs hurt and they protect one another fiercely. Marianne and Devon couldn't imagine a more perfect person to officiate their marriage.
