What does that mean?

Guys - wear a nice shirt & pants, suit/tie optional, no jeans please.

Ladies - cocktail dresses, fun jumpsuits, dressy separates etc.

The lodge has a mid century modern feel to it so if you feel like leaning into that, we encourage it!

Weather in Humboldt can be tricky and even in the summer temperatures can be in the low 50s - 60s. The ceremony will take place outdoors so we recommend bringing a jacket or sweater and wearing comfortable shoes for walking on grass.

We have a limited headcount and in order to be able to invite all of the adults we love, we unfortunately will not be able to accommodate children outside of a couple that are part of our bridal party. We also will not be able to accommodate plus ones or extra guests whose names do not appear when you rsvp.

There will be a talented professional photographer taking photos and we would prefer if cell phones not be seen or heard during the ceremony. This will allow our photographer to best capture special moments while avoiding having arms, phones, and cameras popping up in the frame. This will also allow all of our guests to be fully present during the ceremony. Feel free to take as many photos as you’d like during the reception!

Take a look at the “travel” page for recommendations. We have included a number of recommended hotels - we recommend staying in Ferndale or Fortuna if not in Scotia. You're also welcome to get an airbnb.

Marianne grew up about 45 minutes north of Scotia. We have come to Humboldt together many times and in early 2024 we stayed a couple nights at the historic Scotia Lodge. We may not have said it explicitly then, but we both knew that it was where we would get married.

Dinner will be buffet style. We'll have a variety of options (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, etc.) that will ensure everyone will have plenty to eat.

There will be plenty of free parking available around the venue. Please don't drink and drive.
