How does betting on the wedding work money wise?

The financial mechanics generally follow these steps:

1.) Setting the Stakes: The couple or a designated organizer decides on an entry fee or a set amount for each bet. This is communicated to the guests in advance.

2.) Collecting Funds (Off-Platform): The organizer is responsible for gathering the money from all participating guests. This collection happens entirely outside of any betting apps, typically through:

-Third-party payment apps (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App).

-Cash collected in person, sometimes in a "pot" or "jar".

Please reach out to either bride or groom if you are betting, about payment.

3.) Determining Winners: As the wedding unfolds, an assigned "event leader" calls the results of the bets. The app the tells us who got the most correct, and they win!

4.) Distributing Winnings (Off-Platform): Once the results are finalized, the total pool of money is distributed to the winner. This again involves direct transfers between guests or cash payouts, coordinated by the organizer. We will we be doing a spilt pot, so the winner will win 1/2 of the total, while the couple keeps the other half.
