Lydia is the bride's younger sister and lifelong best friend. Growing up together, the two of them were two peas in a pod always playing fairy princesses or sports in the back yard. Marin and Lydia now have grown together into successful young adults, coming to each other to advice, support, or just a moment of laughter. Lydia is always down for a giggle session and is one of the most thoughtful and dedicated friends there could be. Currently, she plays volleyball for the University of Minnesota and is majoring in Political Science and Public Health. After she graduates, she plans to play professional volleyball followed by a career in Pharmaceutical policy.

Grace is a dear friend of Marin as well as the younger sister of the groom, Jacob. Grace and Marin first met at a Husky volleyball game that Jake brought his family to-and then Thanksgiving the next day after only two weeks of dating. From there, Grace and Marin's friendship has only grown over the last five years and will continue to do so. Grace is an intelligent young women with big aspirations, but is also a wonderful friend you can count on for anything. Grace currently studies at Boston College with a major in Economics and History (pre-law). She plans to attend law school once she graduates.

Shannon and Marin first met in passing when they were 13 at a USA volleyball camp-little did they know they would be future teammates and lifelong friends. Shannon played alongside Marin at UW for five successful seasons. Shannon and Marin have bonded over volleyball and one overly packed backpacking trip... Ask about it at the wedding for a fully story. Shannon is a jack of all trades- and a master of all- from volleyball, to interior design, to being a lifelong friend. Shannon graduated from UW with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with a minor in Urban Development. Shannon currently works with Stantec as a lighting designer.

Ella and Marin also first met at a club volleyball tournament as future UW teammates and were finally able to play together starting in 2018. Over the last five years, the two of them have competed successfully on the court, but more importantly crafted a lifelong friendship off the court. Ella is a fierce competitor and is the most loyal friend one could ask for. Ella graduated from UW in 2022 with a bachelors degree in Communications and English Writing and in 2023 with a Masters of Education- Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership. Ella will continue her volleyball career playing for Bezier in France this coming fall.

Sophie and Marin met for the first time at a club volleyball tournament as future teammates at Washington, but their friendship only grew when they were reunited at UW. For the last four years, these two have overcome the obstacle of competing for the same spot on the court and blossomed into a lifelong friendship. Sophie is a creative women who will always make you think in new ways about any topic you discuss. Sophie graduated from UW in 2022 with a bachelors degree in Medical Anthropology and Global Health and a minor in education. Currently, she plans to travel the world for the next few months before settling down with an internship.

Claire and Marin first met on their official visit to UW in 2017, but became best friends when they were roommates for freshman summer classes through UW. They quickly bonded-as you do when college roommates- and their friendship only grew as they competed on the court and exploring Seattle off the court. Claire will always give you the best music recommendation and is always down to try something new. Claire graduated from UW in 2022 with a bachelors degree in Communication and in 2023 with a masters in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership. She will also be taking her volleyball career to the next level by playing for Bezier in France-alongside Ella!

Nicolas and the groom have been best friends since December of 1999. Together, they shared everything growing up and were near inseparable. Their love of sports often led to the two spending large amounts of time in the front yard doing anything from playing one-on-one basketball games, throwing a football, or even Nicolas periodically crushing Jake in a game of wiffleball. Growing up, they were each other’s biggest fans, always supporting one another through any adversity and pushing each other to fulfil their potential whether it be on or off the court. Nicolas is currently working for Dexcom as a Biomedical Engineer, helping to create glucose monitoring patches.

Andrew and Jake officially met as toddlers trick-or-treating at their mom’s work but didn’t become friends until 6th grade when Jake joined his travel basketball team. Andrew and Jake bonded over their love of basketball and grew up competing together most summer weekends at basketball tournaments. Andrew followed his passion for basketball to Boston College, where he played and graduated with a degree in Neuroscience. Andrew is currently working as a Graduate Assistant on the men’s basketball team at the University of Southern California, pursuing a masters in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Carson and Jake met on the same travel team as Andrew in 6th grade. Carson is credited as the best Point Guard Jake has ever played with. Carson went on to play basketball at Texas A&M University-Commerce and ended up playing against Jake during their time in college. It is one of Jake’s favorite memories of playing college basketball. Carson ended his time in Commerce and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology. He is currently attending the Palmer College of Chiropractic following in his father’s footsteps to become a chiropractor.

“Big Nic” and Jake met on that same travel basketball team as Carson and Andrew and grew up together ever since. While sharing a love for basketball, Nic and Jake bonded over their passion of golf, often taking time over the summer to take on the links. Nic played basketball at Lehigh University majoring in Political Science, and later transferred to the University of San Diego to finish his college career on the West Coast. Nic is currently in Poland playing as a professional.

Kyle is one of Jake’s oldest friends. The two essentially grew up together due to their dad’s being high school friends. Jake and Kyle have many memories together; from watching their older brothers play baseball against one another and playing in the playgrounds, to Kyle taking a visit to Seattle Pacific University. While not being related by blood, the two always referred to one another as cousins no matter how long it has been since visits. Kyle is currently attending and playing basketball at North Idaho College and is to graduate with a degree in Business Administration.

Chris was one of Jake’s best friends during his time at Seattle Pacific University. Jake met Chris during his visit to SPU when he joined Jake for his plant biology class. The two instantly bonded over their love for both basketball and science, often talking about their classes while warming up for practice. Jake often refers to Chris as one of the smartest people he knows. Chris graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a major in Biochemistry and is currently planning to attend Dental School in the near future.
