Algiers Point is our home and we are excited to share it with you. It's New Orleans's second oldest neighborhood, with oak-tree lined streets and classic historic New Orleans-style shotguns and cottages. Meredith lived here when we started dating, while Mark lived in the French Quarter. The Algiers ferry was literally what brought us together.
The West Bank of New Orleans is also where Meredith's dad grew up and went to high school, and where her Papaw CJ worked at the Avondale Shipyard before he retired to a life of giving Meredith bucket rides in their backyard in nearby Marrero.
The Little House is our neighborhood wineyard run by our neighbors Hillary and Randy. They have wines by the glass or the bottle, delicious snacks, and a front yard with picnic table and bathtub seating options. February should be a wonderful time to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine in the wineyard.
Barracuda is our neighborhood taco stand, with a great selection of traditional and non-traditional tacos, chips, dips, quesadillas, and margaritas.
Tout De Suite is the neighborhood breakfast spot. Coffee, eggs, pancakes, and other breakfast classics in a cozy corner of Verrett Street.
Because every neighborhood needs a pub. Enter through the blue police box and get yourself a proper pint.
The neighborhood coffee shop also has its own roasting facility that supplies the coffee for the Brennan family restaurants. Stop by and say hello to the friendly baristas and Opal, the black cat that serves as the unofficial mayor of Algiers Point.
