A historical theater where The Beatles played back in 1964, this outdoor concert venue also doubles as a cool place to hike. If you're a fan of music and hiking, this is the perfect spot to check out!
This is the first place Mark and Michelle went on a date! There are a ton of good restaurants and a snazzy park that follows the South Platte River. It is a cool urban destination, but I would recommend not staying after dark. Some areas are not the most family friendly or single woman friendly. Please don't let that dissuade you from checking it out though!
This lovely park surrounds a lake, and it is a hot spot during the summer for volleyball tournaments, among other outdoor activities. It has a long loop perfect for walking, running, biking, skating, etc., although I wouldn't encourage some of those activities if there is snow and ice on the ground!
One of our favorite coffee places! This is a couple blocks away from Washington Park, and is very dog friendly.
Another one of our favorite coffee shops!
Our home church! Check it out if you are staying through Sunday!
This is a short drive through the mountains and SO WORTH IT. I'm relaxing so much just thinking about it! Idaho Springs is a lovely little town with so many stores to check out, and the hot springs are close by for a relaxing mini spa day. You have the option to join in the main swimming area or you can opt for a private hot tub instead. The main swimming area is decorated with so many plants it looks like the inside of a greenhouse, and the hot tubs are open to the elements, so it's possible to be sitting out while it's snowing!

Mark and Michelle's go-to date is ramen! If you are not familiar with ramen, you are really missing out. It is an Asian dish (Japan and China sometimes fight for the origin of this dish, so I'll stay out of it) that consists of a broth base, lots of veggies (bean sprouts, naruto, carrots, corn, green onions, etc), and meat (typically pork, but you can add any protein you like). It is a really good dish for winter weather, and we highly recommend you try some ramen while you're here, even if it's not at this festival!
This is a restaurant that Mark talks about NONSTOP. (No, that doesn't bother Michelle AT ALL.) Jokes aside, the food is awesome and the atmosphere is great. Make sure to bring along some friends to help finish off all the rounds of food! It helps if everyone enjoys meat ;)
