Our Wedding

I wish there was an awesome, fun, or creative story on how we met. However, we met the way most people meet nowadays, online... After matching on Hinge and chatting back and forth for a couple of weeks, we finally had our first date on February 27, 2022, at Maggie's Farm in Middlton. We instantly hit it off. Our first date was cut sort because Mark had to catch a flight to Alabama that night. He was leaving for 5 weeks..... We stayed in contact the entire time he was gone and had our second date a couple of days after he returned. We've been together ever since! Any chance we could hang out (between both of our ever changing and not your average work schedules) we would! Visting small coastal New England towns, going to Richardson's for ice cream dates IYKYK, introducing Mark to Glen Brook Farm with my upstate NY roots, and Mark taking me up for my first flight out of Beverly airport. The list could go on and on Something we instantly bonded over was our love for travel. Within the first couple of months together we traveled to Bermuda, Cape Cod, 3 Hawaiian Islands, Colorado, and the mountains of Georgia. Going to Hawaii really sealed our relationship. We figured if we can handle each other for 12 days straight while still getting to know each other, this could really turn into something great. So far together we've been to London, multiple Caribbean islands, Nantucket, Milan, Lake Como, Acadia National Park and more. I feel like throughout our entire relationship we've never really sat still. I think that's why our life together really does feel like an adventure. Our relationship continued to grow and get stronger with each passing month. Spending holidays together, celebrating our families growing with new babies and weddings, new work adventures, and everything in between. Truly realizing we want to share this journey together. Fast forward to August 23, 2024. We were taking a weekend trip to Acadia National Park. Summers are especially busy for us, so Mark wanted to plan a weekend just for us. We arrived Friday afternoon and went for a walk shortly after we checked into the hotel. Little did I know, he had something up his sleeve (or in his back pocket). Around sunset we got to Gorham Mountain trailhead. Out on the beautiful, rocky coastline, Mark asked me to Marry him. It was truly the best day of my life and officially the beginning of our lives together. We are so excited to celebrate our romantic and intimate wedding on Lake Como with our closest family and friends. We can't wait to see where this life takes us!

What is the most convenient airport to fly into? Milano Malpensa Airport

What is the best way to get to Laglio, Lake Como from Milano Malpensa Airport? Milano-Malpensa (Varese)By car – 50 minutesBy train (with change) – from Malpensa a to Saronno (18 minutes),from Saronno to Como Lago station (35 minutes)

Should I rent a car? That is an option. However, parking is very limited in Laglio so double check and make sure where you’re staying has parking. Also, the wedding venue has very limited parking onsite.

What should I wear to the wedding? Dress your best! Think about an autumn wedding in Italy. colors that are warm, earthy, soft, neutral etc.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the option for a room block at any hotels in Laglio. However, here’s a list of some hotels and bed and breakfasts very close to Villa Vittoria. There are also other options in other cities around lake Como. Just keep in mind transportation to and from!

A wedding is something that should be celebrated and enjoyed. That is exactly our goal with our wedding weekend in beautiful Italy. I know that if my dad were still here, he would be one of the most excited to celebrate. However, he won't be able to stand by my side, walk me down the aisle, have a first look with me, or take the memorable photos we always thought we would have. I have no doubt he will be with me on this day, just not in the way I had always imagined. As emotional as I know this day will be, I also want it to be a day that we remember my dad. Find ways to include him throughout the day, and the whole weekend. I wanted to create a space on our wedding website to do just that. He deserves a permanent space here. I hope you all enjoy some of these silly photos and videos of my dad. Maybe you can all get to know him just a little bit better and bring his fun, silly, lighthearted, life of the party soul into our wedding. We miss you, we love you.
