8 Days To Go!

Things to Know

- Please send all gifts to Myki's parent's house in Bozeman:

44 Prairie Grass Ct Apt A Bozeman MT 59718

Before your trip

-Download apps listed on bottom of page.

- No shots/vaccines are required for entry into Indonesia.

- Check visa requirements under Travel tab.

- Remember it will be hot and humid there, pack accordingly!

- Bring cash to exchange at the airport when you arrive. If you need more cash there are ATM's everywhere and most take major card providers and dispense IDR. Most places don’t take discover.

- Notify your bank if you plan to use your card overseas. Be sure to tell them where your layovers are as well!

- Outlets are different so buy an adapter. Here is one on amazon: https://a.co/d/00KiQKVX

You can also find these kind of adapters at most office stores or airports. They also sell these at roadside stops and other stores in Bali if you don't have time to get one before.

- Contact phone providers to see if Indonesia is on their provider list and if there are extra roaming charges.

While you're there

- Apotek’s are mini pharmacies and are easy to find if needed.

- There are mini marts like circle K, 7 eleven, Indo Maret and Alfa mart everywhere. You can buy groceries, bug spray/repellent, bottled water, sunscreen, etc at these.

- DO NOT DRINK THE TAP WATER!! Villas will provide water dispensers with 5 gallon tanks or liter bottles.

If you are staying at a hotel they will provide water on request but it's not a bad idea to stock up on water bottles.

Water is very cheap but not free at restaurants.

- If you are going to the beach, bring cash. Most beaches have stalls where you can purchase bottled water or other drinks.

- Wifi is readily available almost everywhere.

- Almost everyone speaks fluent English.

- There are prayer offerings (pictured below) everywhere in Bali. Do NOT touch them and try to avoid stepping/driving on them if possible.

Animals & Insects

- Dogs and cats are cute but don’t pet them!

- Don’t pet the monkeys and don’t look them in the eye.

Keep belongings close if monkeys are around; if they take your belongings barter with food. Fanny packs are a good move!

- Geckos are everywhere but they are harmless. They will chirp but they eat mosquitoes so they can be nice to have around your villa.

- Mosquitos will be around; carry bug spray.

- We recommend buying repellent coils for outdoor areas of your villa.

⁃ Depending on the time of the year there will be black and yellow millipedes around but they are harmless.

Apps to download

- Whatsapp - it is a free messaging service that pairs with your phone number.

Services like laundry, travel, reservations, nail salons, etc will require contact through this app.

- Grab or Gojek

This is like uber and DoorDash in one app. They are mainly used for ride service where you can choose between a car or motorcycle. You can also order food, alcohol, parcel service, luggage delivery or basic department store supplies.

Note: There will be Grab and Gojek motorcycle drivers readily available on the side of the road. They will have you scan a QR code through your grab or gojek app for payment. This can be quicker than waiting on an ordered ride.

- Google Maps

This will be more accurate than Apple Maps. It will be very useful!
