Reception Questions
What is the dress code?
The dress code is cocktail. Think garden party. We've requested pastel colors and neutral tones. i.e. khaki or tan slacks instead of black/navy blue and of course spring colors.
Will there be a wedding ceremony?
No. This is a reception that starts with cocktail hour and ends with a great party.
What's the weather like in April on Long Island?
The temperature usually sits in the 40F-60F range. Be prepared for rain.
Do we have to learn the line dances?
YES! If you really only have the capacity to learn one, learn the bride's favorite: Shivers by Ed Sheeran.
Travel Questions
What town should we stay in?
The reception is in Cutchogue, but anywhere on the North Fork is a great option. (Anywhere from Riverhead to Orient Point). Take a look at the recommended lodging on the Travel page.
Do we need car? / Is there public transportation?
A car is recommended if you are visiting from out of town and staying in the area. There are some taxi/car services as well as uber but they are not 100% reliable.
How do we get to the North Fork without a car?
If you aren't renting a car, there are a few options to get to the North Fork:
- The Long Island Rail Road travels from Manhattan onto the island. There are1-2 trains per day that travel all the way out to Cutchogue with a transfer in Ronkonkoma. (There are also transfer options to JFK/LGA airports).
-The Hampton Jitney is a private bus service that picks up in Manhattan and travels out to Cutchogue several times per day. (There are also transfer options to JFK/LGA airports).
