Please check this page to find answers to many questions you may have about Belize and our wedding.
Q: Can I visit or stay in Belize City?
A: The answer is a resounding NO! Belize City is not the safest place for American tourists.
Q: Where do I find information on COVID - 19 entry and exit requirements?
A: At this time, entry and exit requirements will likely change as we got closer to the wedding. Please visit the Belize Travel Health and Safety site https://www.travelbelize.org/health-safety/ for additional information. This site provides additional details about entrance requirements into the country. If you are vaccinated you do not need to bring a negative COVID test however; if you do not bring proof of vaccination then you will need to get tested (They can perform a test at the airport, but it is HIGHLY recommended that you bring a negative test taken before your flight). The site also includes information regarding the need to stay at a "Gold Standard" hotel, and the requirement to purchase Belize Health Insurance. (You can do this ahead of time so that you are not doing this at the airport in Belize), etc.
Q: Do I need to purchase Belize health insurance before I get to Belize?
A: At this time, YES. Please visit https://www.travelbelize.org/health-safety/ for additional information. This affordable plan of US$18 for a 21 day coverage, provides you not only with financial protection and peace of mind while enjoying your Belize vacation, but more importantly, provides coverage for medical treatment if needed.
Q: How do I find out information regarding COVID-19 restrictions in Belize before I go on my trip?
A: Please visit https://www.travelbelize.org/health-safety/. You can also contact your hotel for additional information.
Q: Is there a curfew in Belize?
A: As of March 1, 2022 there is no longer a curfew across Belize.
Q: Do I need to stay at a Gold Standard certified hotel; eat at Gold Standard certified restaurants/bars; and book Gold Standard certified tour and scuba companies?
A: Currently the answer to all of these questions is YES. Of course this could change as COVID - 19 restrictions ease.
Q: Do I need to book tours/scuba diving/excursions, etc. before I get to Belize? Or can I simply book once I get to the island?
A: Please feel free to contact the tour companies/dive shops to inquire as to whether you should book your tour or dive in advance or if you can simply show up and book when you get to the island. You can also use our concierge to book tours, etc. with. Please see the concierge page.
Q: Are Mary and Damon arranging any group scuba diving/snorkel trips; dinners; fishing trips, etc. for their guests?
A: Mary and Damon will host a welcome party on Wednesday, June 1st from 6-8 p.m. at the Palapa Bar. They will also host their wedding on June 4th at 3:30 p.m. and an after party. They are currently arranging a party on Secret Beach for Thursday, 6/2 at 2:30 p.m. Secret Beach is a great place to watch a sunset on Ambergris Caye. More info to come.
Q: What electrical plug do they use in Belize? Will I need an adapter?
A: Belize uses the same electrical 2 prong outlets that we have in the U.S. They likely will not be able to accommodate a 3 prong plug so bring an adapter if needed.
