Our Wedding

(From MK's perspective because I can't rely on Colin to do this.) Colin and I met through two mutual friends of ours and after a week or two of Colin begging to take me to dinner, I finally said yes. Naturally, I went out for some liquid courage before our first date with one of my best friends and her husband (shoutout Sorcha and Danny) and complained to them about having to go to dinner. After a drink (or three), off I went to Bub City. I got out of my uber... Colin and I locked eyes and I had a gut feeling right then and there that I was going to be stuck with Colin for the rest of my life. We started "officially" dating a week later and the rest is history! Over the last three years (which seems like it's been ten), Colin and I have done everything together, while still pushing each other to be the best we can be as individuals. Even with both of us constantly traveling for work and coaching, we always make sure to put each other first, help each other with whatever is needed, and spend quality time together as much as possible. Colin is my biggest supporter and pushes me to be best possible version of myself. He is the most caring person I know, always has my back and truly makes me feel loved every day. We cannot wait to celebrate with all of our family and friends on December 16, 2023.

For those returning to the hotel, there will be a shuttle running from 11:30 pm - 12:30 am picking up at Victoria in the Park and dropping off at Four Points by Sheraton Mount Prospect. The hotel's lobby bar will stay open until 1 am and they will have an additional space off the lobby for us to end the night! Once the bar closes at 1 am, you are able to bring your own beverages downstairs.

After Party 

We will have a small post-wedding hang-out at our Hotel, Four Points by Sheraton Mount Prospect O’Hare, once the reception ends at midnight. For those returning to the hotel, there will be a shuttle running from 11:30 pm - 12:30 am picking up at Victoria in the Park and dropping off at Four Points by Sheraton Mount Prospect. The hotel's lobby bar will stay open until 1 am and they will have an additional space off the lobby for us to end the night! Once the bar closes at 1 am, you are able to bring your own beverages downstairs. We will also be providing a late night snack from a Northwest Side of Chicago staple, Superdawg.

Near Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Mount Prospect

A great neighborhood spot for a thin crust pizza and a couple of beers that is just a 5 minute drive from Four Points Hotel in Mount Prospect. They have a huge menu and great food! Fun Fact: Mary Kate waitressed at the Morettis in Edison Park back in the day (so you know it has to be good)!

Moretti's

Great spot for a Guinness or a Magners, located in Arlington Heights (next town over, about a 10 minute drive from hotel).

Peggy Kinnane's Irish Restaurant & Pub

Also located in downtown Arlington Heights. The perfect spot for a quick drink and good bar food.

Cortland's Garage Arlington Heights

Order our all-time favorite pizza for take out or delivery! We recommend the Deep Dish, thin crust, Boneless wings, and Lou's Salad!

Mt Prospect - Lou Malnati's Pizzeria

A great drive in spot for a Chicago style hot dog! They also have great shakes and malts.

Bub City is a country music bar with amazing food, drinks, and more! Bub City in Rosemont is just a 15 minute drive from Mount Prospect. We recommend the Giddy-Up Fries and General Joe's Buffalo Bites! Fun Fact: We had our first date at the original Bub City that is located in downtown Chicago! Our favorite spot in downtown Edison Park! Great brunch, apps, drinks, and more! We recommend their Bloody Mary's (one of my favorite Bloody Mary's ever), Irish Nachos, and the Lobster Roll.

Tavern on the Point

A great spot on the Northwest Side of Chicago for Live Irish Music, food and drinks! We recommend their Irish Breakfast, Buffalo Chicken Dip, Guinness, and Magners (with a glass of ice).

Mystic Rogue Irish pub and restaurant

This was our neighborhood hangout near our first apartment in Lakeview! Colin HIGHLY recommends the Spicy Chicago flatbread!

The Butcher’s Tap

A Wrigleyville staple! Right accross from Wrigley Field serving a brand new beer, called Miller Lite and more. We recommend a cold Miller Lite and buffalo chicken wrap!

A fun and trendy spot in Wrigleyville! We recommend their Bloody Mary's and Jalapeño Poppers!

Christmas in Chicago

Every year during the Christmas season, Colin and I pick a day to do all of our favorite Christmas activities! With our wedding being in December, we figured we would give some suggestions if you want to get into the Christmas spirit while visiting Chicago! In December, the famous London House Rooftop transforms into "Rudolph's Rooftop". Their rooftop is beautifully decorated for the season and have themed Christmas drinks as well! This is usually where we begin our night to get pre-dinner drinks. While they do have Christmas themed drinks, we recommend their dirty martini and old fashioned!

LH Rooftop

This is walking distance (at least for Chicagoans... so my LA friends I would suggest ubering) from London House! I grew up going there with my family during Christmas time, so once Colin and I started our own traditions, adding this to our list was a must! Miller's Pub is also decorated for the season and is always packed, so we recommend making a reservation through their website. We recommend their Spinach and Artichoke Dip as an appetizer and ordering their famous Christmas special "Tom and Jerry" for an after dinner drink.

Millennium Park

The original location is downtown on the Daley Plaza and is always packed. From different food and beverage options to the many different German shops, there is something for everyone! They also opened a location in Wrigleyville a couple of years ago, so with our apartment being just blocks away from Wrigley Field, we went more than just once. Whoops! We recommend ordering their famous Glögg to sip on and getting their collectable souvenir mug! Get a warm drink and walk around Lincoln Park Zoo to admire their annual Christmas Season Zoo Lights! This is one of our favorite Christmas activities.
