Matthew and Mary Kate, both graduates of the University of Alabama, met each other briefly at a mutual friend's 21st birthday party in October of 2018. We talked and mingled for several hours that night but moved in separate directions. We both went on to graduate and move across the country. Mary Kate moved to Austin, Texas to pursue graduate school and Matthew started a brand new job in Tucson, Arizona. Fast forward to the summer of 2022, Matthew reached out to Mary Kate and we spent some time catching up. Mary Kate and Matthew went on their first date in Austin, Texas as Matthew was on his way to Arizona. After keeping in touch intermittently for the next year, Matthew and Mary Kate crossed paths once again in the summer of 2023, but this time for good!

After starting to date long distance in 2023, Matthew and Mary Kate quickly discovered a mutual love for traveling, good food, and making fun memories. We traveled to the Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Mexico, San Antonio, Fredericksburg, TX, Dallas, and many more places together.

In summer of 2024, Matthew and Mary Kate put an end to their long distance relationship and took the leap to start the next chapter... before we knew it, we were both packing boxes and made our way back across the country to Huntsville, Alabama, which we are so pleased to call home. We got engaged shortly after our move over Labor Day Weekend, 2024.

Matthew and Mary Kate knew very early on that they wanted to spend their lives together, often saying "when you know, you know" or as Harry Burns of "When Harry Met Sally" once stated, "when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." We cannot wait for the rest of our lives to start as soon as possible. And we are so grateful for you to celebrate with us as we begin this next chapter.
