Our Wedding

Hugo and Mary met in Paris in 2018 at Hugo’s “secret bar”, where he shared stories about football trips and weddings in Belgrade and where Mary shared stories about her recent move to Paris. They spent the next few months learning more and more about each other by going to different sporting events, visiting guinguettes along the Seine, having full English breakfasts, seeing concerts and touring some of the 15th arrondissement’s finest establishments - Celtic Corner, Heure Sup & The Newborn. Before they knew it, Hugo was about to begin a 2 year professional adventure in Australia, while Mary remained in Paris. These next two years allowed for Hugo and Mary to perfect their texting and FaceTime skills; and also for some amazing trips “down under” together. Hugo became a master spider capturer and a novice surfer; while Mary found relaxation on the Maroubra beach and discovered local natural pools during her visits to Sydney. Finally in 2021, the two reunited back in Paris. After settling into the new flat, Hugo into his new job and a couple trips away together, Hugo finalized a plan for their trip to his favorite city - Ljubljana, Slovenia just before the holiday. A few months later in early December - the day had arrived. After exploring the beautiful city and visiting the Ljubljana Castle together, Hugo took Mary to the city center where he found the perfect bridge to ask her to marry him. She happily accepted - and they began a night of celebration and, more importantly, the next momentous step in their lives together, forever.

Option 1:The main international airport is Charles de Gaulle – Roissy airport. It is located 23 km from Paris. The easiest way to reach the city from the airport is to take a taxi from a dedicated taxi stand. They are located outside each terminal, simply follow the directions in English. The fares are set between EUR 55 and EUR 58 and all taxis legally should accept credit cards - although it doesn't hurt to verify before getting inside. They will assign you a new taxi if needed.Beware of individuals claiming to work for a taxi company/the airport. Ignore them, they are fake taxi drivers who will overcharge you. Proceed directly to the dedicated ranks. A cheaper alternative is the train: RER B. Make sure you board a direct train and you will reach the city center within 30 minutes. A single ticket costs EUR 11.40. Trains depart every 10-20 minutes. Buses are also available and will drop you at the Paris Opera. A single ticket costs EUR 13.70 and the journey takes around 1 hour. Details found here: https://www.parisaeroport.fr/en/passengers/access/paris-charles-de-gaulle/public-transport/roissybus Note for both Airports Ubers are an option, however not all drivers will speak English and it may be difficult to organize the meeting point. You can organize a pickup from either airport using Welcome Pickups. They will meet you outside of baggage claims and the drivers speak English. The details can be found here: https://www.welcomepickups.com/

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

Option 2: The other international airport is Paris Orly Airport. It is around 10km from the city center. Like mentioned above, a taxi from the dedicated taxi stand is the best way to reach the city. The rates are set at EUR 32 or EUR 37 and all taxis legally should accept credit cards - although it doesn't hurt to verify before getting inside. They will assign you a new taxi if needed. The public transportation is a bit more complicated from this location, so our recommendation is to take a taxi. Note for both Airports Ubers are an option, however not all drivers will speak English and it may be difficult to organize the meeting point. You can organize a pickup from either airport using Welcome Pickups. They will meet you outside of baggage claims and the drivers speak English. The details can be found here: https://www.welcomepickups.com/

Orly Airport

Option 3: The three international train stations in Paris are Gare de l’Est (North-East Paris), Gare de Lyon (South-East Paris) and Gare du Nord (North Paris). The other three: Austerlitz (South-East Paris), Montparnasse (West Paris) and Saint Lazare (North-West Paris) are all domestic stations. The fastest way to reach the city center from these is by using the metro system, a single ticket costs EUR 1.90Link here: https://www.ratp.fr/ Taxi ranks are located outside each station and taxis should cost more than EUR10-15 if you are centrally located. Please watch out for pickpockets in and outside these stations.
