What is the attire for the wedding?
The ceremony will be held outside (weather permitting) in the horse ring. We would not recommend wearing your favorite evening gown or shoes you don't want a little farm dirt on! Semi-formal would be great!
How far is the ceremony from the reception?
The ceremony site is about 15 minutes from the reception!
Can photos be taken during the ceremony?
We are excited to capture our day with each of you, but we do ask that phones are not used during the ceremony. We love our photographer, and we know you will, too!
Is lodging available in Highland?
Yes! Please see the Travel section of our website. Options are limited, and we do recommended booking sooner rather than later if you would like to stay near the wedding.
Are there things to do?
If you are staying the entire weekend in Highland, you may find that being surrounded by nature will make you want to relax! However, there are some things to do in and around the county. Take a walk around town, grab a bite to eat, or stop by the Bride and Groom's favorite Cidery!
Bath County is only 45 minutes away, and has things to do, too!

What restaurants are around town?
We do not have any chain restaurants in town. We do, however, have local spots! Click the link for more info: https://members.highlandcounty.org/member-directory/Search/restaurants-food-beverages-185780
What if the weather doesn't cooperate?
While we are bound and determined to be married on the family farm, we know that the safety and comfort of our guests is important to us. Should the weather take a turn, we will have the ceremony at the same location as the reception.
Is there transportation to and from the ceremony and/or reception site?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide transportation. We do recommend carpooling if you know others that are attending the wedding -- parking could get tricky!
Are there gas stations along the way?
You know your car best! Highland is about an hour from Staunton, VA and about an hour and 50 minutes from Daleville, VA. Depending on where you are traveling from, those are the last bigger towns before getting to Monterey. There are a few gas stations in the county -- we just don't want anyone to be stranded!
