It all began on New Year’s Eve, a night full of cheer. Maryrose was just there to dance in the New Year. She wasn’t looking to date—of course, that’s how it goes—but across the room, John saw her and just knew, I suppose. “I’m going to dance with her,” he thought with a grin, and with that first step, their love story began. On their first date, he brought chocolates—real smooth move, right? Turns out, he’d been sweet on her since that very night. On date number three, John asked with great care, “What do you want from McDonald’s? Nuggets?” Right there, she knew she was in trouble—this man had great taste, because nothing says romance like fast food embraced. Two weeks in, John was certain—he knew in his heart that this was the beginning, not just a good start. But he waited three weeks (just in case) before asking, “Will you be mine?” And from that moment, their paths intertwined. Now, if there’s one thing Maryrose loves (besides John, of course), it’s dancing—at weddings, in kitchens, and on any dance floor. John has been to many receptions, twirling her ‘round, and he’s learned that in this relationship, there’s no “sitting this one out.” John took her fishing, a rainy lake date. She caught her first fish—it felt like fate. With joy in her eyes, she said, “I love you,” catching John by surprise—though he already knew. Through it all, their faith has been their guide, a love built on Christ—deep and wide. Like the plants Maryrose tends with such care, their love has grown strong, rooted in prayer. They strive to be kind, to treat others well (though sports rivalries may put that to the test—oh well). John’s a Jets fan, a cross he must bear, but Maryrose had his back—like a seasoned quarterback. When the Eagles won, she led him to Broad. Jets loyalty is fine, but she knew what to do—protect the man she loves… from getting tackled too. Then this past August, on a warm summer night, they walked on the beach, waves rolling just right. Maryrose knew—ten minutes before, no doubt—that John was about to bring the ring out. Her dad had said yes, the plan was in motion, with her great-grandmother’s ring and a heart full of devotion. As the sun dipped low and the sky turned gold, John took a deep breath and asked, “Will you marry me?” We can’t wait to celebrate with all of our friends, a night full of dancing, love, and joy that won’t end! So bring your best moves, your laughter, your cheer, because this Philly Special will be the party of the year!

For our out-of-town guests, here’s all the info you’ll need to get to Philadelphia easily and make your stay as smooth as possible! Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is the city’s primary airport and is conveniently located about 8 miles (15-20 minutes by car) from The Bellevue Hotel, where our reception will be held. Transportation Options from PHL to The Bellevue Hotel:-Taxi or Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): Approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.-Airport Shuttle: Various shuttle services are available at the airport. It’s best to check with your hotel to see if they offer a shuttle service.-SEPTA (Public Transit): You can take the Airport Line from the airport to 30th Street Station (about 20-25 minutes), and from there, take a quick taxi or walk to The Bellevue (approximately 10 minutes).

Closest Train Station: 30th Street Station (Amtrak &amp; SEPTA)If you're arriving by train, 30th Street Station is the main transportation hub in Philadelphia and is about 1.5 miles (5-10 minutes by car) from The Bellevue Hotel. Transportation Options from 30th Street Station to The Bellevue Hotel:-Taxi or Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): A quick 5-10 minute ride to the hotel.-Public Transit: You can also catch the Market-Frankford Line from 30th Street Station (towards Frankford), get off at City Hall Station, and walk about 5 minutes to The Bellevue Hotel.

Q: When and where is the wedding?A: Full wedding details, including date, time, and venue locations, can be found on the Home Page of our website. Q: I’m not Catholic. Should I still come to the wedding Mass?A: Absolutely! Our wedding Mass is the most meaningful part of our day, and we would be honored to have you join us. While the ceremony will include Catholic traditions, all are welcome. Your presence, prayers, and support mean so much to us, regardless of your faith background. Q: What is the dress code?A: For the Reception: Black-tie optional (but highly encouraged!) Q: Will the reception be indoors or outdoors?A: The reception will also be indoors, but there will be a small rooftop balcony at the venue with beautiful city views if you'd like to step outside.

Q: Is there a hotel block for guests? A: Yes! Please visit the Travel &amp; Accommodations page for booking details. If you'd prefer other options, such as a different hotel or an Airbnb, feel free to reach out to Maryrose for recommendations. Q: Will transportation be provided?A: While we won’t be providing transportation, we highly recommend using ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft since the wedding takes place in Center City. If you're staying at The Bellevue Hotel, valet parking is available. There are also multiple public parking garages near the hotel and venue. Pro tip: If you're driving into the city, try using SpotHero to find discounted weekend parking. You might find it easiest to park near the reception venue, then rideshare or carpool to the church (about a 10-minute drive), and back again afterward. This can help minimize time spent hunting for street parking between locations! Q: Is there parking at the church?A: St. Agatha–St. James does not have its own parking lot, but there is a parking garage directly next door, as well as paid street parking in the surrounding area. Day-Of Timing

Q: What time should I arrive at the church?A: We recommend arriving at St. Agatha–St. James at least 10–15 minutes early to allow time to park and find your seat before Mass begins — and to save you from accidentally walking down the aisle with Maryrose and her dad! 😉 Q: Is there a break between the ceremony and reception?A: Not much of one! The reception will follow the ceremony with a short buffer, so you’ll have time to check into your hotel, change outfits, or freshen up if you’d like. Cocktail hour begins at 5:30 PM and lasts 90 minutes, feel free to arrive right at the start or take a little extra time to rest, get ready, or do whatever you need.

Q: Can I bring a plus one?A: Due to space limitations, only guests whose names are listed on the invitation are invited. We truly wish we could celebrate with everyone, and we’re so grateful for your understanding! Q: Are children invited?A: We love your little ones! However, this will be an adults-only celebration unless your invitation specifically states otherwise. Q: Do you accommodate dietary restrictions? A: Absolutely! If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know when you RSVP so we can make the proper accommodations.

Be prepared for a line—it’s worth the wait! Cleavers (9-minute walk) - John’s favorite! If you’re craving a cheesesteak or just a really good sandwich, Cleavers has you covered. Known for its generous portions and fresh ingredients, they serve up classic cheesesteaks with a variety of cheese and topping options. Pat’s King of Steaks &amp; Geno’s Steaks (35-minute walk / 12-minute drive) - The famous rivalry! Pat’s claims to have invented the cheesesteak, while Geno’s is known for its bright lights and signature thinly sliced steak. Try both and decide for yourself! Maryrose has done this in one sitting—it’s possible.&nbsp; Dalessandro’s Steaks &amp; Hoagies (25-minute drive) - Maryrose’s favorite! Dalessandro’s is a Philly staple, known for its finely chopped steak, perfectly melted cheese, and fresh rolls. Many locals argue it’s the best cheesesteak in the city. Tip: It’s cash only. Also, call ahead to order!
